Thanks for the suggestion. I'll put some examples into
musixdoc but I don't think defining new commands in
musixtex.tex would be sufficiently useful; note for example
that \zqp is already in use.

There are some problems here. According to my music theory
book, short-beam notation is also usable with quarter notes
and pointed notes. Also, it is necessary to provide "lower"
short-beams for whole notes in multi-voice scores. And I
don't think \steml and \stemn improve on just \stemlength if
examples are provided in musixdoc.

I propose

\def\trml#1{\advance\transpose2\loffset{0.5}{\ibl0{#1}9}\roffset{0.5}{\tbl0}\advance\transpose-2}%
\def\trmu#1{\advance\transpose-3\loffset{0.5}{\ibu0{#1}9}\roffset{0.5}{\tbu0}\advance\transpose3}%
\def\trrml#1{\advance\transpose2\loffset{0.5}{\ibbl0{#1}9}\roffset{0.5}{\tbl0}\advance\transpose-2}%
\def\trrmu#1{\advance\transpose-3\loffset{0.5}{\ibbu0{#1}9}\roffset{0.5}{\tbu0}\advance\transpose3}%
\def\trrrml#1{\advance\transpose2\loffset{0.5}{\ibbbl0{#1}9}\roffset{0.5}{\tbl0}\advance\transpose-2}%
\def\trrrmu#1{\advance\transpose-3\loffset{0.5}{\ibbbu0{#1}9}\roffset{0.5}{\tbu0}\advance\transpose3}%
\def\Trml#1{\advance\transpose2\loffset0{\ibl0{#1}9}\roffset1{\tbl0}\advance\transpose-2}%
\def\Trmu#1{\advance\transpose-3\loffset1{\ibu0{#1}9}\roffset0{\tbu0}\advance\transpose3}%
\def\Trrml#1{\advance\transpose2\loffset0{\ibbl0{#1}9}\roffset1{\tbl0}\advance\transpose-2}%

\def\Trrrmu#1{\advance\transpose-3\loffset1{\ibbbu0{#1}9}\roffset0{\tbu0}\advance\transpose3}%

in musixtex.tex. Example in musixdoc:

Re: [Tex-music] abbreviation for tremolo

2015-11-14 Thread Andre Van Ryckeghem
Some time ago i made in line tex commands for trills. It may happen the
stemlength must be drag out. \steml does this for the remainder of the bar. If
necessary it can be restored by \stemn.

Hi Bob,

I got it!
the pmx-Code is :
\loffset{0.5}{\ibbbl0k9}\roffset{0.5}{\tbl0}\ a24l | //
\loffset{0.5}{\ibbbu0f9}\roffset{0.5}{\tbu0}\ c24+u | /

AFAIK, there aren't PMX commands for this but Section 2.4 of
the PMX manual explains how to "in-line" TeX commands in a
PMX source file.

Look at the last example in Section 5.4 (Shorthand beam
notations for repeated notes) of musixdoc.pdf.
