Thanks for the report. Unfortunately there are many portability and other
problems with the shell scripts; this is just one of them. Regenerating them
is unfortunately not simple. Maybe one day we will manage to get that done,
but for now, just have to use bash or another shell that understands export
var=val, or make4ht as Michal mentioned ... --sorry, karl.

Hi Vincent,

do you use TeXLive? Can you try to run make4ht instead of htlatex? It
shouldn't have such issues, as it uses Lua instead of shell scripts.

Hi,

when running, it fails saying:

/usr/share/tex4ht/htlatex: 5: export: (x86)/Intel/iCLS: bad variable name

The problem is that dash fails when exporting the PATH variable. The problem
can be solved running bash instead of dash.
