You might not have to buy a 3D camera, just take a lot of pictures
from different angles and use software like this:
http://www.boingboing.net/2010/12/02/unc-team-builds-3d-m.html
or Microsoft's Photosynth:

Potentially, cave photography could make a rapid change to 3D
once the 3D TV's become mainstream, which is probably less
than 5 years away.
I have always enjoyed the 3D programs at the caving conventions,
and especially Dorothy Mladenka's.
Imagine a newbie spelunker with no photography skills and on their 1st caving
trip being able to snap presentable 3D pictures?
I look forward to being able to see 3D caving slideshows from the comfort of
my living room.

You are correct, Gary. Both Don and I worked for the Water Resources division
I often stayed in their house in Muscat when I came in from the field. Cheryl
was a gracous hostess as well as a supererb vertical caver.

If I remember correctly this cave was discovered and first explored by Don
Davison and Cheryl Jones when they lived there.

Hi all--
Some friends of mine makes awesome hoodies and I thought I would pimp them
to the cavers community.
Presenting...
BAT HOODIES! (With wings!!!)
http://bunnywarez.com/catalog/index.php/cPath/64
They also make Bat Jammies, for those of you who want to keep toasty warm.
http://bunnywarez.com/catalog/index.php/cPath/62
And if you browse around, they make all kinds of animals too, but I know the
bat lies near and dear to your heart.
If you order one, be sure to tell them I sent ya. (; Please feel free to
forward to other caving list. Support local crafters in Oakland, CA.

Doesn't sound like it would work too great if you were crawling through your
typical Texas cave. Something like Carlsbad - OK...
