Why are you just now getting excited about this? This "poll" came out almost a
year ago--May of 2010. Where is the opinion piece that lead up to this "poll?"
I'd like to see what it had to say and to whom the "ban" was addressed. My

appearance of neutrality, not the general public's patriotism. Sounds like

If I remember correctly the flag was being worn, inapropriately, on
clothing.  The US Flag Code prohibits that use.  The school sent a kid home for
wearing offensive clothingmight have been some mention of hispanic students
being offended.  Probably an instance of obnoxious behavior on several fronts
like normal.

The Real Sanctum explores the back story of Producer/Writer and expedition leader Andrew Wight, who teams up with Hollywood director James Cameron to make a 3-D feature film of a cave diving expedition. Cameron's film is inspired by Wight's true story of near disaster when his expedition team became trapped in a cave system in the Nullarbor Plain, Australia.

I believe that the Sanctum trailer says the make-believe cave they're in is on

Speaking of caves on Nat' Geo', there's some fantastic photos for your
computer wallpaper at:

http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/wallpaper/download

Just use the "January 2011" pull down.

There's some incredible photos from the cave in Vietnam that is,
possibly, the largest cave ever found.

The shots look SUPERB on my 21" display here at work.

Man, I would love to go there!

Enjoy!

[Texascavers] FW: Follow up on Hart Mt WNS report--not verified FYI

2011-01-28 Thread Louise Power

There was a rumor going around that WNS had been found in bats roosting in
buildings at the Hart Mountain Wildlife Refuge in Eastern Oregon near Lakeview
(http://www.fws.gov/sheldonhartmtn/hart/index.html) . Fortunately it has turned
out not to be true. Here's the correspondence that references it (read from the
bottom up). We're pretty far west right now, but we're still keeping watch.

[ot_caving] FW: Vote NO on FOX to banning the flag in America

2011-01-28 Thread Fritz Holt
To my way of thinking, this is not political but a support of the freedoms that
all in our great country enjoy.

Vote NO on FOX to banning the flag in America

Fox is running a poll about whether the flag should be banned in schools in
order not to inflame Hispanic students.

Moveon.org, funded by George Soros, Organizing for America
, and SEIU, "Service Employee International UNION", have been twittering today
to go to Fox Poll and vote to BAN the Flag and right now it is working (21%).

It's time to SHOW THEM WHAT TRUE PATRIOTS BELIEVE!!!

GO HERE NOW:

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2010/05/06/american-flag-banned-america/

VOTE.and then pass it along!

Check out these wind powered mechanical and complex creations. Ingenious but I
wonder if he is working on any practical applications.

This is really interesting. I can only imagine the time and thought that went
into making these.

[Texascavers] AMCS

2011-01-28 Thread Mixon Bill
Re Ediger's recent invitation about the "AMCS Photo of the Week," do
not confuse amcs.org with the Association for Mexican Cave Studies
that is a project of the NSS and has published several thousand pages
over the past 35 years after another AMCS editor dropped the ball. See
amcs-pubs.org, not affiliated with the person doing business as
amcs.org.

Re: [Texascavers] an interview with a cave diver

2011-01-28 Thread caverarch
That is a fine discovery, David, of a recent interview with diver Jill Heinerth
discussing her career in cave diving, with rebreathers, and on documentary and
Hollywood films (including the filming of the Sanctum trailer in Florida). I
am keen to see the documentary she and Wes Skiles made called "Hidden Rivers of
Florida" (which is not just about caves).
