[Texascavers] FW: April 1 - International Geologists Day - lunch at the Cove
Folks, This is a reminder that today is International Geologists Day. We'll be celebrating with lunch at "The Cove" in San Antonio. John Hoyt, International Man of Mystery will be the featured guest and may be wearing his new hair piece in commemoration of the event. If you know or love a geologist, you're welcome to attend. See the information below. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geologists_Day Folks, I'm pleased to announce that April 1 is International Geologists Day for geologists, hydrogeologists, engineering geologists, geophysicists, geochemists and others in the geological field. The timing of the holiday, the first day in April was chosen because it closely matches the end of winter and the beginning of preparation for summer field work and expeditions. In addition to geologists, many others involved in related fields also consider this day as their professional holiday and celebrate it. In celebration of this most prestigious of days, we will be meeting at 11:30 am for lunch at The Cove, located at 606 W. Cypress, San Antonio Texas 78212. Festivities will continue at The Cove after 5 pm. Mr. John Hoyt will be joining us as Geologist Emeritus and guest of honor. Everyone is welcome to come celebrate and join in honoring this important profession (no, I'm not buying you lunch - you're on your own).
