Vote only for those you know who will help us all.

OK to vote only for one or two candidates.Six is silly.

A vote in ignorance is worse than no vote at all.

Subject: [Texascavers] NSS election

Those of you who are NSS members with an e-mail address on file will have
received an e-mail announcement about the NSS elections, with links to
candidates' statements and your personal electronic ballot. It will be
mysterious to many why you are allowed to vote for up to 6 candidates, when
only four current directors are listed as having terms expiring this year.

The explanation is that one of the current directors listed as expiring in 2017
is in fact a temporary appointed replacement for a director who resigned. She
will be replaced for the remainder of the term ending in 2017 by whoever comes
in sixth in the election. Similarly, one of the current directors shown for
2018 has resigned, and the candidate who comes in fifth will fill that term
ending in 2018. The four top vote-getters will fill full three-year terms
ending in 2019.

Note that there are only seven candidates for the six seats to be filled. If
you vote for six, you aren't doing any one of them much good. You are permitted
to vote for fewer than six. Voting for only a few who sound particularly good
to you will have more effect on the outcome of the election.

I know I have relatives that go to Reynosa for dental work but of late, there
have been gun battles between the police and the cartels that have happened
within the last 2 weeks. I used to go when I was younger and it was safer. But
not anymore.

Yes.It's wonderful wooded country but they are logging the hell out of it. Come
in from the east (Acuna). Your body can cross at Boquillas now, but it is not
set up for vehicles.

Hell, that puts you damn near to OJ.

Perfect for one of your great circle routes visiting the Texicans at Rock
Springs Apr 23 NS 24.

We captured two breeding pair of Apamado falcons in the De Camines in the 70s
and successfully had them rear chicks in the old Centennial school house in
Alpine, TX. They were hacked back to the wild.

FYI Terry Bolger will be in Terlingua around the end of the month.

Since I got a nibble allow me to narrow the search. Ojinaga is a bit far
west, better for me to cut in at Ciudad Acuna or so.

Have any of you ever been to the Sierra del Carmen or thereabouts,
especially Maderas del Carmen? Looks green and remote!

The Weazel needs some dental work and can't afford to do it in
Gringolandia. This might be an excuse to go to Mexico to catch a few snakes and
 poke
my nose into a few holes, so if any of y'all Texicans can recommend a south
of the border dentist, preferably one in Nuevo Laredo or points west your
suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Might even stop in Austin along the
