I am in the tiny town of Round Top heading west towards LaGrange  It is
6:00 p.m. on Friday.  I am in my Sequoia.  I only have room for one person,
as I am hauling some irrelevant junk.

I will go to TCR if I find a rider.

If not, I will probably still go.  I should be passing Seguin around 9 p.m.

If anybody is still packing and has an extra pair of size 13 or XXL beach
shoes, I will buy them.  Otherwise, I will stop at Walmart and get some.

All I am bringing is a cot and one caving boot.  I could not find the other
one, nor any of my camping gear, nor even an ice-chest.  I dug around in my
cluttered storage unit, but it was 140 degrees in there, and I finally just
said ph**k it.

[Texascavers] Elliott at TCR

Hi all!

I am driving 900 miles to TCR but will only be there Sat. and Sat. night. 

I could show a preview slideshow of the AMCS bulletin I am writing on the 
Astyanax caves of Mexico. About 20 mins. 

If that doesn’t work out for all be aware that I’ll be giving the full show at 
the UTG meeting on Wed Oct 18, 8 pm. About 30 mins.

As of Friday afternoon, I am in Cypress, Texas planning to be in Brenham
around 4 p.m.

I am still uncertain if I am going to drive any farther west before the
year 2050, assuming I live that long.

I have no lame excuses for skipping TCR, just laziness.

In theory, I could either ride with someone or offer someone a ride from
the northwest or west side of Harris County.

P.S.

At the present moment, the manager of my rental unit in Brenham has locked
me out, and I have also lost my key.  So finding my camping gear is a
low-priority.  In summary,  I am a slightly unprepared to deal with all
that.  And my estranged-wife just now texted me ordering me to deposit $
400 in her account.

Its all good.

I must have missed the precursor to all this. Texascaver posts invariably go to 
my spam folder. I try to extract them, but it is difficult when they are hidden 
among hundreds of ads for asian women, military grade flashlights, and stock 
tips from Donald Trump.
 
As to the forgetting of places, I almost always remember where, but only rarely 
who, when, or how. When it comes to women I often remember who, but rarely when 
or where. Unfortunately, at this advanced stage of life I fear I may have 
forgotten how, but then how would I know?
 
Now that I've cut back on my drinking I suffer from the quotidian remembrance 
of the mundane, but to what end? Reality is s overrated!
 
I briefly saw Mark Minton at the Old Timers in WestbyGawdVirginia, but after 
that I rushed back to Florida to fight the hurricane. After that I got a Big 
toe-ectomy and have been laid up ever since; so, whoever the mystery man is, he 
isn't me.
