Besides no masks, not a pair of gloves in sight either. You wonder if they all
go immediately to wash their hands per guidelines as we the masses are told to
do?

But wait, I did see The Pelosi wearing a designer scarf over her face on the
way into the last stimulus vote meeting! The kind we are told is useless. But
it coordinated with her outfit!

Seriously, though, I can see none of those people going to the store for
groceries or medicine, or worrying about running out of toilet paper etc. So,
in their world, I guess our precautions are not necessary? Wonder if it would
make a difference if one of them became infected or died from the virus?

Me, I will take no chances with my life or that of my husband. Discomfort or
not. Masks, gloves, sanitizers - bring it!

Give me a break.I haven't seen any politicians or media journalists, pick your
favorite channel or political party, wearing masks. Why are good people
obsessed with who wears a mask on their television? Are we trying to make a

Even at 72 I can usually handle the Texas heat as long as I have some air
movement and lots of water. But there is something about being muzzled with a
face mask that makes the heat less bearable for me. Perhaps I’m part dog and
need to pant to stay cool! Thanks for your take on this!

What is to keep someone from wearing a face mask in 80+ temps? I've worn heavy,
HEPA filter face masks while mountain biking when it's 100 degrees outside due
to my asthma and allergies. Sure, it's uncomfortable, but to me it's worth it
to be outside. This is like saying you can't cave in the summer. It's just how
much heat you're willing to bear!

from those outside their group and avoid gathering in groups larger than five
people.” This would indicate that face masks must even be worn on the trails!
If this is correct, when temps head back into the 80’s plus, they have
effectively closed the parks again. Has anyone verified this with TPWD?

Re: [Texascavers] TPWD park re-openings

2020-04-25 Thread Heather Tucek
Even before the parks closed, (and partially WHY the parks closed), people
weren't following the social distancing and gathering in numbers rules. I
personally saw groups wy larger than 10, all hanging out together much
closer than 6ft. People don't follow the rules, and many parks don't have
the manpower to enforce the original park rules, much less brand new ones
that require constant monitoring of all the locations in the park. Many
parks are sadly understaffed as well.

There’s something about the subtext of “What the hell am I doing here?” that
delights me. Love it.

How many times have all asked ourselves that question in some god forsaken

It’s caver existentialism in a nutshell.
