[Texascavers] New Foundation in memory of slain San Antonio Woman to benefit Bustamante
Viola Barrios was killed last week in San Antonio, she was from Bustamante and opened a great restaurant here in San Antonio decades ago. Her family has created a non profit foundation and it will benefit her home town. http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/metro/stories/MYSA050108.barrios.foundation.bc88a9ff.html I had met her several times and once asked her to bring me a poster from Bustamante on her next trip, she did. Despite being on food network and being very successful she stayed grounded. It has been so wet that it is likely safe to say that there are more than in a dry year. Bring some insect repellant in case you need it. RE: [Texascavers] Fox sightings
This past week Sara and I saw a fox in Placencia on the beach... For some reason I was suprised to find a beach bum fox. Didn't expect foxes to like the beach but what do I know. Now the Jaguar eating all the dogs in the area was also kinda cool... Big prints outside my cabin in the sand one morning but thats a different story. Joe David Locklear said: I saw a fox along the road. Yvonne Droms and I also saw a fox ona backroad as we were driving back to the Convention campground at dusk after a cave trip near Wyandotte. Apparently there are a lot of foxes in southern Indiana. Cool! RE: [Texascavers] Gas Prices( my part)
I came real close to buying a commuter car but then I remembered all the rednecks that drive giant trucks with massive pieces of bone crushing steel right about my head level strapped to the front of there trucks. So now I car pool instead. Ranzau _ From: bob cowell [mailto:bcow...@satx.rr.com] Sent: Monday, May 21, 2007 5:02 PM To: TEXAS CAVERS Subject: [Texascavers] Gas Prices( my part) I've often said when gas goes above 2.80 I'm getting a motor scooter. Guess what I bought a kymco 49.5cc Had it unrestricted and I get 85 miles to the gallon. It uses high test, but I'd rather pay 3.09 a week than pay 76.00 for my suburban. Top speed unrestricted is around 50-55. I use it to go back and forth to work. It was a little scary at first but I feel better now.
