Some of you may use Amazon.com liberally when Xmas shopping. (I do). Did
you know you can also shop at smile.amazon.com and help Texas caves? The
following is a direct explanation of Smile from their website. When
you shop at smile.amazon.com, you’ll find the exact same low prices,
vast selection and convenient shopping experience as Amazon.com, with the
added bonus that Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price to your
favorite charitable organization. You can choose from nearly one million
organizations to support. The AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of
the purchase price from your eligible AmazonSmile purchases.

The Texas Cave Management Association is a listed Amazon charitable
organization. TCMA, as you know, owns Robber Baron, Whirlpool, Deep/Punkin
and manages O9you know, the majority of the caves we've enjoyed this
year. I recently ordered an LSU-themed dress and it came in exactly the
same as if I'd ordered it on Amazon.com. It's totally legit and I strongly
encourage all of you Amazon shoppers to support TCMA using the site!

Just go to smile.amazon.com and it will ask you to pick a charity.
Search Texas Cave Management Association and click on it.

 Have a great day!

[Texascavers] TCMA Election

2014-10-24 Thread Linda Palit via Texascavers
*TCMA ELECTION*

If you are a current member of TCMA you should receive a ballot in the mail
for the 2015 Directors of TCMA. We had serious issues with our electronic
voting service, therefore *NO ELECTRONIC (EMAIL) VOTES WILL BE COUNTED! *

Please open your mailing carefully. There is a stamped postcard in the
trifold which you can send back to register your votes. Your ballot must
be postmarked no later than November 14. Results will be tallied and
announced by November 21st.

We intend to have a new electronic voting system by next fall, but had to
scramble to hold the election this year.

If you do not receive a ballot by the middle of next week, October 29,
please contact me, Linda, at this email address. If your address has
changed, and you do not think we have your current address or email, please
feel free to send corrections and we will update our database. We do not
share our database.

Thanks.

[Texascavers] Robber Baron Open House November 1st

2014-10-24 Thread Linda Palit via Texascavers
*Robber Baron Open House is November 1st, Saturday. *

Volunteers are needed to help with the open house. Setup will begin at
7am, and please arrive before 8am if you want to help. It will be a busy
day. There will be opportunities to volunteer on the surface and in the
cave. If you are working in the cave, please bring all your own gear, and
a water bottle.

Kurt and Kitty Menking are planning to host a covered dish party at their
place after the RBC open house. (Bring something you want to share.) There
will be burgers, venison sausage, and okra on the grill. Please RSVP if
you plan to attend the after party so that our hosts can know how many to
prepare for.

Accommodations can be found for anyone staying overnight from out of
town. There
will be a Government Canyon Survey on the day following the open for those
wanting to stay and go caving. Marvin Miller is the contact for that
survey, so check in with him if you would like to go to Government Canyon.

Please contact Evelynn Mitchell if you can volunteer at evel...@satx.rr.com
or 210-288-7872.

*Thanks, *

Only about 1 million dollars and I bet they would take less. What a
great project for TSA and permanent home for TCR. . . .
