Here's a message from Carol Hill if you are looking to improve your
knowledge through UNM Continuing Ed. On a web site Carol listed for Osher, you
can see other courses besides Carol's. I checked the web site but did not see
her courses listed, but there was one called Geology of Carlsbad
Caverns. The cost is a steep $35. I'm not sure if it's one session or 3.
You'll
have to call the number she lists for information and registration. It's
505-277-0077. The website is www.dce.unm.edu.Click on the Osher link and check
it out. Good luck. I will probably call to get the straight poop. They
show an annual membership cost of $20. Call the number and decide if it's
worth it to ya.

Hi Linda:
I will be teaching a class for UNM Continuing Ed (Osher)/Story of New
Mexico on June 11-18-25th, Tuesday,1-3 pm. Pete Lindsley will be video
taping it for NCKRI, who want it for their archives.

Here is the schedule:
June 11th. Speleogenesis of Carlsbad Caverns
June 18th. Mineralogy of Carlsbad Caverns.
June 25th. NOVA show Mysterious Life of Caves

At any rate, I thought that some of the grotto cavers might be interested
in attending, and that you could pass the word to them. However, if they
are interested, they must be over 50 years old and sign up with Osher (on the
web) + pay the class fee (I don't know how much it is, but probably not
much). Also, maybe some of the older Ft. Stanton people living in
Albuquerque might want to attend?

Thanks, Carol
