I bought the app. The topo maps are scanned (Some day we will have vector maps). When the screen resolution goes above .5 mile, the image automatically goes to the aerial view. It takes 10 minutes to download a map section. Sometimes when I pinch or spread the screen it drops pushpins instead. Still having maps on the iPhone can be very handy when the cell signals are down.. You just have to plan ahead and download them early.
