the drop while the caver is on the bottom!

Well, you could set up some pulleys to keep the light at the bottom 
where it would be more useful. Or even fancier, have the light by the 
caver all the way down.

When I worked as a grip we had zip-cord, different than zip-line.
You would have to spool it off as you rappelled.
But boy what a mess.  It would be like cleaning up phone line in a cave from 
the 60's.

This is a request for development funding so you can't actually go buy these 
things. 





  

The idea is an inexpensive, cheap-to-operate light to replace kerosene lighting 
in rural 3rd world (read African) countrysides. 





  

BUT the idea is a simple (Duh!!) and wonderful one for an in-cave camp, base 
camp, or emergency cabin lighting.   I hope they get it on market.
