Re: [Texascavers] The Hall of Texas and Mexico Cavers updated again
Mike Hennessy died on January 6, 2020. He was a caver in the 1970's with the Than SWT Grotto. Logan McNatt might have more information for your Web page. I hadn't realized so many cavers have passed, especially in 2019. Thanks for the info. Keep it up. Keith Heuss On Sunday, February 2, 2020, 11:30:39 AM CST, William R. [Texascavers] The Hall of Texas and Mexico Cavers updated again
“The Hall” at http://cavelife.info/hall/hall.htm is dedicated to tributes, biographies, obituaries, and photos about departed cavers and cave scientists who caved in Texas or Mexico. I launched the web page on 5 September 2019 after we lost so many old friends in 2019. I recently completed most of the tributes that I can do for now. Today, 2 February 2020, I posted 55 more pdfs, for a total of 125 pdfs (126 cavers). We still have 34 “lost cavers,” meaning we don’t have much information on them yet. Please check them out on the website and help me find more information. Carl Kunath is recognized for writing many caver obituaries and tributes accompanied by his great photos. Susan Hardcastle Beaty, Dale Pate and Frances Fehribach assisted me with difficult research into obituaries, news articles and death certificates. Ron Miller authored a web page in 2010, *In Memory of Texas Cavers*, from which I borrowed information. Thanks to the 91 folks who wrote tributes and provided photos over many years––their names are listed on the web page. I was asked to write another article on this project for the next *Texas Caver*. I will summarize what we know about some of the remarkable cavers we have known, and give some caving safety information. *William R.
