A few years ago I read a highly interesting book about the incredible art theft by a Texan. The book is still in print: “Treasure Hunt: A New York Times Reporter Tracks the Quedlinburg Hoard” by William H. Honan. The army officer art thief hid his loot in a cave in Germany before shipping it back to Dallas.
