Good luck!

Thanks Bruce for the clear explanation, I am current in Myamar using kit I
am not use to, I was trying to use it as a command like option not an
option so has not included the hyphen or put it on the same line as the
survey.

All working now,

Thanks

[Therion] Entrance for cave list

2017-01-09 Thread Bruce Mutton via Therion
Looking at this whole thread to date...

I use same version of therion and windows as Andrew, plus Vladimir's beta as
well.

I have many projects that have multiple entrances defined, as well and main
entrances, and in a hierarchical structure.

Never any problems encountered over many years, once I understood the, main
entrance – minor entrance distinction.

Andrew, it is not just that you are using a different computer or editor, and
the ‘survey -entrance’ is turning into ‘survey –entrance’ (ie short dash to
long dash)?

Or some other unexpected thing like that?

A sample main entrance definition, a bit complicated, but it works for simple
ones as well;

survey a -title "Survey A Upper levels to Smaugs Hall towards Connection Pitch
Middle Earth Cave" \

 -entrance a1

At a higher level index file I name the main cave appropriately, ie

survey GLMESM_system -title "Greenlink, Middle Earth,Swiss Maid Cave System"

The export statement I use is;

export cave-list \

  -surveys on \

  -location off \

  -output ./Output/GLMESM_SystemCaves.html

And it produces output like the attached image, which has a 4 level deep
hierarchy, main caves entrances, minor entrances and unexplored entrances all
included…

Page 17 of the Therion hook states that station
Under the context survey should be used as the entrance identifier for a cave
to be used in cave-list export.

However, this gives an error unknown command -- entrance

Now I can sort of get round it using
Station 0 "" entrance
in the centerline, but this does not define a cave so the list is a bit weird.
Am I missing something?

Re: [Therion] Entrance for cave list

2017-01-09 Thread Andrew Atkinson via Therion
I said in the original email that station 0 "" entrance
Worked but
Entrance 0 did not, one in centerline and one in survey, respectively.
Answers keep been given for station 0 "" entrance which is confusing to the
thread as it is entrance 0 that does not work. Now you say centerline 0,
which I assume is just a typo.

Re: [Therion] Entrance for cave list

2017-01-09 Thread Martin Sluka via Therion

Andrew,

It is not confusing thread. I used several times "station entrance" flag in centerline
section, when the entrance was in the middle of centerline, because therion had problem to
calculate altitude correctly and generate extended elevation too. But I used "centerline
0" in survey section for list of caves. Exactly as you.

I'll phone to Stacho where is the problem.

Then "export cave-list -location on -o cave.html" gives you
coordinates and lenght and depth of your surveys compiled, conected
with defined entrances. If you have a index.th [1], which connects
all your caves (every cave has to be at least in one or more
surveys; and more surveys connected under one general cave survey),
then you have list of all caves with one or more defined entrances.

Re: [Therion] Entrance for cave list

2017-01-09 Thread Martin Sluka via Therion

It is another "entrance"

"station 0 entrance" means, that this station is reference point from which is
altitude calculated and centerline flipped for extended elevation.

For list of caves it is "entrance 0" in survey section. Or should be.

Re: [Therion] Entrance for cave list

2017-01-09 Thread Pavel Herich via Therion

Definition of entrance has to be inside centerline.
Then "export cave-list -location on -o cave.html" gives you coordinates
and lenght and depth of your surveys compiled, conected with defined
entrances. If you have a index.th, which connects all your caves (every
cave has to be at least in one or more surveys; and more surveys
connected under one general cave survey), then you have list of all
caves with one or more defined entrances.

Now I can sort of get round it using
Station 0 "" entrance
in the centerline, but this does not define a cave so the list is
a bit weird. Am I missing something?
