[tw] Re: Creating TiddlyWiki
Thank you for your response; I wasn't very clear. In fact I wanted use TW as some sort of documentation tool, by creating an initial HTML file with some tiddlers, for example with the use of a template and some code in order to generate an intitial HTML file. I found something that goes in that sense here: https://gist.github.com/745113 with the use of an XSLT file. So I got my response: I can "inject" tiddlers in the tag *div *that has the id *storeArea*. Now I ask me, how I can made the document read only. Re: [tw] Re: Full TiddlyWiki Encryption
Yeah, I looked at boxcrypto, it does require admin, in winxp, and it doesn't even support uac yet, so it has to be disabled. I have a feeling I would have to write my own FF plugin, but I have no idea how to. I don't use BoxCryptor, but it seems to be a "system level driver" that gives you access, to transparent, file by file encryption on the fly. So you just open your TW from the folder. If you save it, encryption is done automatically. If you need to decrypt the data on a linux or mac system you can use the "native" EncFS drivers, which basically do the same. There are some howto's at the BoxCryptors page. If you are not allowed to install software like this at your work computer, than you have a problem. [tw] Re: Another browser to add to the "it works" list: luakit!
Not much to setup - unless you mean my tweaked rc file. My changes are just deleting unused bits from the default rc, with one small block added for the xdg-open. For regular use, a generic luakit install works out of the box... if it's available for your platform, that is. But, because I love TW so much... here you go: https://github.com/perlguy/luakit-tiddlywiki On Mar 2, 3:08 am, Jeremy Ruston wrote: > Awesome, and congratulations. Apologies - on windows, even portable mode requires admin rights to get the device driver itself loaded, which I think disqualifies it under your conditions... [tw] Re: Another browser to add to the "it works" list: luakit!
I dont see any reason is woulnd't be able to run on OS X... though you may be right - getting a supported GTk+ to compile it against might be troublesome. I don't have a Mac or I'd gladly give it a shot. Luakit does indeed use the same webkit that Chrome and Safari use... and unless you just want a minimal wrapper around webkit, you're probably better off using one of those two instead. Sorry after i have finisht my master thesis i want to get into JAvaskript and Tiddly, but now i dont have time for that. Can anybody programm, what i have asked for ;) : tagging of parts of tiddlers, and seeing all tagged parts under the tiddler with the title of that tag. also that both are syncronised. Re: [tw] Re: Full TiddlyWiki Encryption
The problem is that none of those solutions are portable. And the portable solutions require me to have to manually encrypt the file and copy over the file in my dropbox. The problem with this is that, inevitably, I have to unencrypt the file to disk, and then have FF open it. What would be nice is to have a FF extension that could see an encrypted file, discern the encryption scheme from from a line of xml and then ask for the password to decrypt before displaying it. I know how to keep my data safe in DB, but nearly all of those use admin rights. I want to use the same wiki at work, where I don't have those rights, and cannot have support install them. While I'm not entirely concerned with touching my workstation disk, I don't want to accidentally forget to re-encrypt and upload the new file.
