[tw] Losing settings for plugins

2012-11-12 Thread Shango
Every once in a while my tiddlywiki loses the settings for all my plugins.
They will all suddenly revert back to default values for some reason. It
is really annoying because I have to go back into each one and set them all
back. I try to go back to a backup tiddlywiki but that doesn't seem to
work. I'm not sure why because where else would the plugin settings be
saved if not the tiddlywiki file itself?

So for example, under backstage / tweak, "Username for signing your edits"
suddenly gets set back to "YourName." My custom plugins, AutoTaggerPlugin,
FileDropPlugin, etc. all lose their settings. I keep my tiddlywiki on a
flash drive and it is all local (nothing "in the cloud"). Also, I'm using
Firefox browser, latest version. I don't know if that has anything to do
with it. I wish I could solve this issue once and for all because I'm
getting tired of it.

Thanks!

[tw] Re: Local TiddlyWiki does not save

2012-11-12 Thread Clifford Bressette
i am pretty sure that after FF 15 you need to use tiddlyfox the only other
option is to edit your prefs.js file to include your TW file as a trusted
source. i believe that there is a drawback or two associated with this such
as an entry needed for each TW that you use or are ever going to use.

you can check out this thread for more info:

[tw] Using in donationware project?

2012-11-12 Thread Nicholas Franks
Can TiddlyWiki, or any derivative thereof, covered under the same GNU
license, be used for the documentation for a donation-ware application?

It has been very difficult to get a response from anyone one this, or
locate anything in the entire net-verse. I am not an attorney, so I really
have no clue if by using it for the documentation that I would be violating
anything.

I have created an application. It is very small, and as of right now only
about 20 people have even downloaded it. My application is donation-ware,
similar to free-ware.

As small as my application is, it requires a lot of documentation, and
needs to display a lot of images. Using .chm files is horrible and does
not look good at all. In turn I'd really like to use TiddlyWiki, or WoaS,
in order to have offline documentation for my application.

In order to create the proper shortcuts on the users start menu, I would
have to package the page in the installer. Alternately, I would like to
use a very small WebBrowser control on a *separate* viewing app to display
the page without being able to navigate to anything else - pretty much an
offline browser with no navigation controls limited to the documentation
only. (source code for it consists of 1 line...)

My application however, is not open source. It is covered under a very
generic freeware license. Essentially I am somewhat stuck on whether or
not I can use either TiddlyWiki or WoaS for documenting my application,
and/or using the created page in a browser control limiting navigation,
and/or packaging the page in the installer for the purpose of creating a
shortcut to the page...

Please help with some clarification as I am held up on finishing the
remaining wiki pages until I can definitively know one way or another for
certain.

Hallo Angela.
Als erstes solltest du Firefox installierten. Für Firefox gibt es ein
Addon das heißt tiddlyfox.
Wenn du dieses installiert hast, sollten zumindest die macspezifischen

[tw] Re: Inline Editing of tables

2012-11-12 Thread TonG
Hi Vincent,

Thanks for the fast response.
I wasn't aware of a newer (modified by Tobias Beer) version of the
TableSortingPlugin.
After installing the v2.03 version all my problems were gone: no
broken QuickEdit toolbar anymore, backstage button present and
Autosave working again.
No idea about the relation between this problems; I am not a
programmer.

Your modified version in Dropbox (https://dl.dropbox.com/u/23745840/
MTC_TW266_TWTable144_TWted144_TableSort202A_QuickEdit244.html) does
work also (local), but seen over http the close button (x) - after
clicking the 'C' button - displays weird, something like ⊗— (if it
does not show in Google groups: a with caret, S with caret upside down
and 2 'em' symbols?).
May be that has something to do with Dropbox an UTF-8 as was reported
when Jeremy Ruston announced TiddlyWiki in the Sky (with Dropbox) .
But, when using the "newest" version of TableSortingPlugin, there is
no need to change the code

Cheers,

Ton

P.S Just saw you last post. This version does also works, but shows
the same weird characters for the Close button when viewed over http.

[tw] Re: Inline Editing of tables

2012-11-12 Thread Vincent Yeh
Ton,

I was wrong to remove the codes for sorting purposes. The TWtable needs
them to correctly show the sorting status when the header is fixed, without
them it still does the sorting but does not show the status. So I put them
back but changed slightly so it won't cause that "TypeError:
config.tableSorting.refresh is not a function" again. Seems to work. You
can find it at the same place:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/23745840/MTC_TW266_TWTable144_TWted144_TableSort202A_QuickEdit244.html
