Eric, I would LOVE to have this functionality back, since I'm trying to make a one stop shop for all my co-workers. I was hoping to be able to run scripts off the wiki so that Word documents could be regenerated from wiki content using ms-html. I think this is only possible with the LaunchApplicationPlugin. How many hours do you think it would take for you to create the plugin to do this? I don't have a problem with compensating you for your time. Is there a way to get these plugins (I guess specifically the Comment plugin) to follow name changes of Tiddlers?
