Your todo list is elegant! But for this particular use case I need the
fewer options and less features of tgrosinger.

Re: [tw5] Re: New version of the Notebook theme available

2021-01-13 Thread Sapphireslinger
Some titles and captions don't make the translation into the sidebar:

1. a transcluded image as part of the caption field
2. a strange character as part of the title field

I have a tiddler titled "Classes"
The caption field reads {{$:/images/fa5/solid/book-reader}} Classes
It shows as "(icon) Classes" in sidebar tabs in Vanilla theme.
But the icon shows as text ... {{$:/images/fa5/solid/book-reader}} Classes
... just like that in the sidebar tab under Notebook theme.

Even worse if I have a special character in the title like

✝️ Bible Study

Its sidebar tab is completely blank under notebook theme. The tab is still
clickable but it's blank.

Re: [tw5] Re: New version of the Notebook theme available

2021-01-13 Thread Sapphireslinger
Tried your theme today. I have a tiddler that doesn't get transcluded
properly when I tag it into the sidebar.

I have a tiddler titled "Classes" with this content:

1. {{transcluded tiddler}}

2. {{transcuded tiddler 2}}

3. text sentence

4. bullet list

5. student-tab student-tab student-tab student-tab student-tab (this is a
horizontal menu) (each tab has further paragraphs along with vertical tab
menus within each)

6. list links list

7. a link

1, 2, 3, and 4 lose their formatting in the sidebar, all jumbled together
in one paragraph.

5, 6, 7 are fine. The tab menu and all its child(?) transclusions and their
tab menus and transclusions as far in as I drill down are rendered
perfectly. It's only that area before the first tab menu that doesn't seem
to have gotten the mode=block memo. Even the (6) bullet list and (7) link I
have up on the first level but AFTER the tab menu renders fine.

[tw5] Re: WYSIWYG editor for TW5

2021-01-13 Thread bluespire
OK. You pointed me in the right direction. I defined the necessary ckeditor
variables in $:/plugins/bj/visualeditor/config.json to make uploading
work. Now I have the upload tab. However, I still have a blocker. When I
try to upload an image through ckeditor I get the following error in the
console: *Status Code: 403 'X-Requested-With' header required to login to
'My ~TiddlyWiki'*. I feel like I'm almost there . . . My wiki is just a
basic nodejs instance IP:8080. All my ckeditor files and upload folder are
in the ./files folder. I have no authentication enabled. I'm not quite sure
why I'm getting a 403. Googling it doesn't really give me a solution, so
I'm thinking it's a TW-specific issue.

[tw5] How to automatically reset a tgrosinger checklist to be all unchecked every midnight

2021-01-13 Thread Sapphireslinger
I like Projectify for more complex checklists, but for a simple daily
repeated routine I like to use tgrosinger's minimalist elegant little
checklist.

A simple daily repeated routine however needs to unchecked every midnight,
ready to be checked up again the next day.

If I have a checklist like

[ ] wake up
[ ] wash face
[ ] get dressed
[x] not my real checklist haha

... is it possible to encase that checklist in some code to make all the
x's enclosed by [ ] disappear after midnight?

Or should I add something to the code in tgrosinger's plug-in?

Aaargh! After spending 30 minutes composing that, I just realized he has a
nifty little clear-all button at the bottom of the checklist. As many times
as I've used the checklist, it didn't occur to me to press that button!

But just in case any one can make it even more effortless for people like
me...

[tw5] editor-auto-list - how to add [ ] to * and #

2021-01-13 Thread Sapphireslinger

Saq's editor-autolist ($:/plugins/sq/editor-autolist) makes * and # lists
effortless.

But tgrosinger's minimalist little checklist
($:/plugins/tgrosinger/tw5-checklist)
uses [ ] lists.

How do I add [ ] to * and # in Saq's code?

I tried editing part of $:/plugins/sq/editor-autolist/editor-operation-autolist
like so:

var listPrefixRegex = /^((\*|#|[ ])+).*/;
var match = prevLine.match(listPrefixRegex);
//ensure we only handle lines starting with * or # if(match != null &&
match[1]) {
var trimmed = match[0].replace(/\s\s*$/, '');
var prefixRegEx = /^((\*|#|[ ])+)$/;

But It didn't work.

[tw5] Re-importing a previously exported CSV (JSON Mangler? XLXS Utils?)

2021-01-13 Thread Osin
Hello,

I am working on transforming an FAQ contained in an Excel workbook (with
only one spreadsheet) into a simple TW. I posted about it here :
https://groups.google.com/g/tiddlywiki/c/i6-Ge9ahVCQ/m/X8BhP54IDAAJ , got
some great feedback, and I have been testing and playing around TW, I think
I'm starting to wrap my head around it (Mat's "Big Picture" text really
made things click, thanks!).

The original FAQ Excel file contains about 60 entries, one entry per row. I
manually "transferred" 10 of them into tiddlers, linked them with tags and
created a TOC within a TW5 instance. However, the full 60 entries will need
to be revised and edited by two of my teammates before I go ahead and
import everything.

I exported the 10-tiddler TW into a .CSV file. It gave me (and my
colleagues) a good idea about how the data is structured. I am now at the
stage of modifying the CSV by adding the remaining 50 QAs after my
colleagues have reviewed them, and re-importing the CSV into TW. I'm doing
a test-run and adding 6 additional rows to the CSV.

How can I easily re-import the CSV? Tones mentioned JSON Mangler in the
other thread, but I am a bit lost in the documentation (again). I found a
thread about it as well, but there is talk of shadow tiddlers, turning the
import into a plug-in, and other options I am not sure concern my use case.
At this point, I'm unsure whether I should just just transfer everything
manually, it might be quicker than troubleshooting the import. I also saw
there is xlsx-utils, would that plugin serve a similar purpose?

Thank you.

2021-01-13 Thread 'Mark S.' via TiddlyWiki
If you make a stylesheet tiddler (a tiddler tagged $:/tags/Stylesheet) and
put in this content:

textarea.fieldarea {
height: 5em !important  ;
}

You can override the default height that is being used.

Here's the simple code that I'm using in a separate tiddler that I
transclude into a different tiddler. When the editor height mode is set to
fixed the edit-text "window" is whatever is set in the editorheight tiddler
which is huge.

Notes:
  <$edit-text
tiddler=<>
field=notes
class=fieldarea
tag=textarea

You might show an example of what you're doing.

If you're doing what I think you're doing, then you'll probably need to
wrap a div with a custom class around your edit boxes, and then create a
stylesheet that uses !important to override the setting. The setting gets
placed via a style attribute, and AFAIK the only way to override that is
with an !important style.

[tw5] Edit-text widget question

2021-01-13 Thread History Buff
Hello all,

I'm in the process of implementing a few edit-text widgets to ease the
editing of fields. In the process, I noticed that the size of the textarea
box is affected by the $:/config/TextEditor/EditorHeight/Mode tiddler and
the $:/config/TextEditor/EditorHeight/Height tiddler which I had previously
set as fixed for editing relatively large tiddlers to keep the edit bar
visible.

Is there a way that I can have separate settings for my individual
edit-text widgets and my the normal editing of tiddlers? I'm asking this
because, at present, the text box for my edit-text widgets are unreasonably
large unless I set the mode to auto.

Thanks in advance!

[tw5] Help needed to translate Projectify

2021-01-13 Thread Nicolas Petton
Hi!

I've recently added support for translating Projectify[1] strings, and
the next release will be accompanied with a French translation plugin.

I would like to add more languages to Projectify, but unfortunately I
only speak English and Frensh myself, so I'm looking for help :-)

Cheers,
Nico

[tw5] Re: Streams 0.2 preview

2021-01-13 Thread arun babu

I am a heavy streams user. It helps to organize my notes in a structured
manner so that I can easily retrieve them when I need a quick reference. I
had given an early feedback regarding the current beta version in Reddit
and GitHub. So I will concentrate on what I wish to see in streams in
future plus a few late feedback comments about the beta version.

   1. Templates - This is my use case. I am a radiology doctor. So when I
take notes about the imaging findings of a certain topic, it usually have
specific pattern. I will give an example. Name of the topic will form the
title of parent streams tiddler / node. Then there will be headings like
Definitions, Pathology, X ray findings, Ultrasound , CT, MRI findings,
treatment etc. which will be made into separate child nodes. Sometimes
there will be sub headings under some of the headings - for example under
MRI findings there may be sub headings like T1W, T2W sequences - these also
will be separate child nodes which will be indented under the corresponding
heading. These headings or sub headings name will be usually the first
sentence or word in the corresponding child nodes. Now I have to manually
do it for each topic ( I use text expander extensions of browsers to make
it easy for me). I would like this to happen automatically. That is when I
create a parent streams tiddler or node with the topic name as title and
add a particular tag or field to it, the child nodes should be created
automatically with name of each headings or sub headings as the first text
in that particular child node. So that I just have to fill in the contents
in each node. Is it possible to do like this? I saw the option called
template for new node in the streams settings. But I could configure only
the parent tiddler with that. Is it possible to configure child nodes along
with the parent using this template feature?
   2. As I said in the first point, in many of my streams trees, the first
word or sentence in the child nodes will be usually the name of the
headings or sub headings. Is there any way to incorporate this first word
or sentence of the child nodes into the title of that particular child node
in place of the timestamp. For example - <>/<>
   3. Ability to export a single streams tree in any of the available
format. Currently I don’t know of a way to select a single parent streams
tiddler with its entire child nodes and export them. I know only to use the
filter [stream-type[default]] which will select all the streams tiddlers in
my wiki. Am I missing something here?
   4. When we use streams, our recents page will be over filled with the
child nodes of each streams tree. Is there any way to hide the child nodes
within the recents page. Or else create a separate recents page for streams
in addition to the default one with only parent nodes as it’s contents.
   5. Option to select either wiki text or markdown format in the config
option of streams so that user who need it can make use of.
   6. In the documentation you may suggest to those people who use
codemirror editor and editor autolist plug in along with streams to change
the conflicting keyboard shortcuts. I think such conflicts can be easily
   overcome since everything is customizable.
   7. Codemirror editor add much value when I am dealing with multi line
content in child nodes because of keyboard shortcuts. This holds true in
   desktops and laptops.
   8. I think codemirror should be disabled in mobile by default since
selecting text doesn’t work when codemirror editor is active in mobile.
Also because codemirror shortcuts won’t work in mobile. I came across a code
   by buggyj for
automatic disabling of codemirror in mobile. But this doesn’t disable
codemirror editor in streams nodes in the mobile mode. Can that code be
modified to disable codemirror in mobile for nodes in the streams tree also.
   9. When the wiki is opened in mobile and the code mirror editor is
selected, currently there is no option to disable double click to exit
editing. But since I recommend not using codemirror in mobile, it doesn’t
matter. But in desktop or laptop it would be a greater addition if the
option to double click to exit editing is given while using codemirror
   editor also.
   10. For a node withlong mutli line text content, when codemirror is
selected as editor and we double click to edit the node, the focus of the
node in edit mode will shift to the end of that node with caret position
also at end of node. But if the default editor is selected, focus of the
node in edit mode will remain at the top of the node with the caret
position still at the end of the node. I am not saying that I routinely use
such long multi line text in a single node of streams tree

G'day all,

Just a little "bounce" (?) to let folk know I've done a fair bit of work
getting my online resume (or curriculum vitae) juuust right.

Although I should be spending time actually looking for work, I can afford
to make this CV project my major interest and time-consumer for another bit.

Despite me being a bit of a stubborn goat with very peculiar ways of
organizing/structuring things (largely set in my ways), it would be
oh-so-awesome for you to throw in your ideas (for the benefit of everyone)

The range widget needs to be linked to a tiddler that collects the value
selected.

<$range tiddler="$:/myindex" min="1" max="3" default="1" increment="1"/>

Unfortunately, you can't reference the output of a widget (e.g. <$view/>)
inside an HTML tag or even another widget. So instead the filtered
transclusion syntax is needed.

[tw5] How to fill HTML field with dataTiddler?

I want to make Images Gallery on TiddlerWiki.
So I import the ImageList like this:

1:http://web.com/cat.jpg
2:http://web.com/dog.jpg
3:http://web.com/bird.jpg
--
TiddlerType: application/x-tiddler-dictionary

And only static dataTidder+index is working, but it not to change index.
--

--

Then I try RangeWidget and ViewWidget to finish it, but not working.
--
<$range tiddler="dataIndex" min="1" max="3" default="1" increment="1"/>
 />
--

I want to know: How to fill HTML field with dataTiddler?

Thanks.

[tw5] Can anyone help me with a recursive macro?

2021-01-13 Thread si
I'm using Streams, where tiddlers are related hierarchically, and I'm
trying to create a macro that will return the ancestors of the current
tiddler in a formatted bullet list.

So for example if I had a Stream like this:

   - A
  - B
 - E
 - C
  - D
 - F

Then the macro, when applied to tiddler F, would return this:

   - A
  - D
 - F

I know that I can use the following kin filter to return a list of the
ancestors: [kin:stream-list:to:]. What I am struggling to
figure out is how to turn it into a list that is actually formatted as per
the example above.

Can anyone help me out here? Thanks in advance.

[tw5] Re: Table of Contents behavior

2021-01-13 Thread clutterstack
D'oh! I'd say there's no shame in being out-TWed by Mario, but this is
actually demonstrated in the tiddlywiki.com tiddler "Example Table of
Contents: Selectively Expandable", where the tiddler "SecondThree" has the
toc-link:
no field and works great. So mea culpa for assuming how the rest of the
macro would handle things. Sorry, Stefan. Sorry, Mario!

Best,

Hi Walt

Delete
$:/config/ui/EditTemplate
and it will revert to default.

Then when updating Stroll at some later point, uncheck that tiddler when

Hello Walt,

For the time being, would it help to create a tiddler with a filtered list
of all your tiddlers that have empty text fields? You could even add it as
a tab next to "Missing".

Best,
Chris

> I originally was going to kill the functionality that created missing
tiddlers when saving changes after editing tiddlers. I changed my mind and

I respect your choice about this, @davegifford -but it is problematic for
me, because i tend to pepper my notes with CamelCase refs for ideas i'm not
ready to develop in the moment -which i can later retrieve via the
"Missing" tab nested under "More" tab in the toolbar... But the way Stroll
works now, i don't have any easy way to pull those "missing tiddlers" up.

So: i'm looking for some way to override that function, without breaking
anything or going off on what would be in effect a code branch i'm gonna
have to maintain myself. Is there something simple i might do to fix this?

[tw5] Re: How to launch batch scripts from TiddlyDesktop in linux?

2021-01-13 Thread TiddlyTweeter
Ciao Mark S.

I'm not answering your Mac question as I'm only PC and Android.

What I did want to generally comment is that "residual" ability to access
the OS via "in TW scripts" is still very worthy.
I think its particularly helpful in stand-alone one-file TW---AND
TiddlyDesktop, which functions as a "whole".

Part of the issue is, of course, the browser lockdowns on security issues
have made it very difficult to do that.
But, FWIW, I was much taken by what Riz managed to do in the (previous)
release on Timimi for Firefox. Essentially a small OS hooker that passed
muster and let you launch scripts.

Frankly I do not have the competence to understand the machinations of the
issue.

That said, I do have enough understanding to know that TW is much more than
a static web page and OS interaction can more than ice the cake of it.

Thoughts
