[tw5] Re: [problem] Cannot save or delete tiddlers from the edit menu

2021-03-28 Thread Mat
I doubt I can say much that you didn't already try so FWIW

By deleting stuff and saving a new copy every time, you should be able to
"scale it down" until it works.
Look at what shadows are overwritten and remove the overwrites.
Remove one plugin at a time.

Maybe before any of that; peek with the inspector tool to see if there's
some styling that somehow blocks the edit buttons.

Frustrating.

[tw5] Re: "Remote Transclusion"

2021-03-28 Thread TW Tones
In my view a platform is something on which you can build anything.
TiddlyWiki is a software platform. I am the owner always.

TiddlyWiki can be also made available on many different *server platforms*,
you choose.

Facebook is not a platform although it has its own server platform, we have
little or no control how content we place on it looks and appears to
others. They give us a network but control its operation to extract
advertising revenue.

Ultimately this is a matter of semantics. But I see mediawiki as a wiki
platform you can place on a server platform. Wikipedia is specific
instance on a server platform.

Regards
Tones

[tw5] Another TiddlyWiki with "Viewer" and "Author" modes

2021-03-28 Thread Charlie Veniot
Other examples of mine previously mentionned in other posts:

   - My online curriculum vitae
   - My "Tifoist" project

G'day all,

With way too many projects/interests on the go and too few hours in a day
(and too few lifetimes for this cat), I had put aside my multi-context
TiddlyWiki (all-in one TiddlyWiki with four very distinct purposes that do
have common content and "infrastructure".)

   - *Aside, the four purposes: Product Reviews, Urban Off Gridding for
   Laypersons, Hydro Bill Cutting for Laypersons, Chromebook Beyond Web
   Browsing .*

Although I wanted to work on updating/adding content, I wound up instead
updating the TiddlyWiki to startup in "Viewer" mode with "Author" mode
activated when the right sidebar is unhidden.

Just in case anybody is interested in both seeing the difference (before
and after) in appearance and digging into the code:

   - Old Multi-Context TiddlyWiki

   - New Multi-Context TiddlyWiki

Cheers!  Happy Monday Eve ?

[tw5] Re: --Load / plugins / tiddlywiki.info

2021-03-28 Thread Joshua Fontany
If those plugins exist in the single-file TW instance that you are Loading,
then yes - In fact, I don't think you even need a tiddlywiki.info file at
all, Unless you are unpacking that wiki into a foler-style / individial
*.tid(s).

Timing wise, you are getting the `Warning: Cannot find plugin ` errors AS
the TW core is loading your wiki-folder, therefore BEFORE the command is
initiated.

Once the single-file tiddlers are loaded, those plugins should appear in
the normal `tiddlers/` directory.

Best,
Joshua Fontany

I have a similar scenario in some of my wikis, and using split[/] and
is[tiddler] was how I approached it.
Further specifics will depend on details like whether there can only be two
levels or multiple, and whether only the first level (root) needs to exist
or all preceding levels.

[tw5] --Load / plugins / tiddlywiki.info

2021-03-28 Thread James Anderson
Hello,

I have a TW called notes.hta that contains the following plugins:

"welford/twstaticblog/helper",
"welford/twstaticblog/export",
"welford/twyt",
"welford/twspimg"

however when I call this

```
call tiddlywiki .\tw --load .\notes.hta --output .\blog --build posts
```

I am getting the error messages:

```
Warning: Cannot find plugin 'welford/twstaticblog/helper'
Warning: Cannot find plugin 'welford/twstaticblog/export'
Warning: Cannot find plugin 'welford/twyt'
Warning: Cannot find plugin 'welford/twspimg'
```

Presumably getting these because I have these plugins listed in my
tiddlwyiki.info

Maybe I am just misremembering, but i thought having the plugins in the
file you load is ok. Is that not the case? do they need to be in the
Node.js instance of TW? Is there any way around this?

Thanks,
James

[tw5] Is current a suffix of other tid?

2021-03-28 Thread Mat
Did I dream this or was there very recently (past week?) someone asking
about this very problem that I just stumbled upon? Can't find the question,
if there ever was one. Regardless, I wonder if there's any clever way
filter to find out if:

 the current tiddler title is a suffix of any other tiddler title

It will be used as part of a viewtemplate so it is important that it is an
"economical" filter.

The situation occurs because I have tiddlers titled like paths e.g

MyFolder/Img1.jpg
MyFolder/Doc1

...and I have a mechanism to create tiddlers with titles as the last "step"
in those paths, i.e "Img1.jpg" and "Doc1" but these tiddlers should show
some data from their corresponding path tiddlers in a ViewTemplate. A
tiddler can have multiple pathtiddlers.

Thank you!

Simon - Indeed thanks!
Does this mean you intend to keep tiddlyspot running?
Is there any particular advantage with one over the other?

The great Tobias Beer has the "inc" plugin to add a bar above trascluded

Ive long thought this should be part of the core!

2021-03-28 Thread TiddlyTweeter
David,

Transclusion is as transclusion does.

https://youtu.be/ooPVuG8ZbNE

   - 3. A bar when hovering over a transcluded tiddler to allow one to open
   or edit the tiddler that is transcluded

Not a bad idea.

[tw5] Transclusion ideas

2021-03-28 Thread David Gifford

Hi all

Recently there has been a lot of talk about transclusions.

I am wondering if transclusions should be given some attention so that they
become full partners alongside tagging and linking. There are a few tools
in the toolmap for transclusion, but I think there could be more.

1. A filter to list all tiddlers that transclude the present tiddler.
2. A filter to list all tiddlers+missing transcluded in the present tiddler
(in edittemplate, to quickly create the tiddlers one manually transcludes)
3. A bar when hovering over a transcluded tiddler to allow one to open or
edit the tiddler that is transcluded

What other tools would be needed so that transclusion is a more privileged
partner in the TiddlyWiki writing process?

You may also be interested in this similar solution, which allows you to

[tw5] Re: Recomendations for editing and saving TiddlyWiki

2021-03-28 Thread Jason
I was looking for a simple way to run tiddlywiki on an android device. I
wasn't overly comfortable messing around with a nodejs installation and I
happen to come across rclone. Finding rclone was a bit of a 'wow' moment
and I am still exploring what the tool can do. The great thing is that it
is available as a package for many platforms including termux. Tiddlywiki
handles webdav out of the box and rclone has a webdav server, aka heavenly
match!
I installed termux, added rclone, coped my tiddlywiki into a location
accessible via termux, cd to the directory and ran 'rclone serve webdav .'
By default rclone will fire up a webdav server on http://localhost:8080. I
am yet to install certificates for TLS however from the rclone
documentation it seems possible.
It all just worked including encryption.
If I want to access my tiddlywiki from another device on the same network
rclone will take an address property on the command line and bind to that.
