I already know the basic table formatting didn't change between TWC and TW5. It's for my constructed language, so it's really only interesting if you're a language nerd, and probably not even then because correlatives ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pro-form) are pretty straightforward. Re: [tw] Re: More elegant way of doing this lexicon?
So any pointers toward telling tw5 to take the 'english' fields from all the tiddlers tagged 'lexeme', match them with the tiddler title fields, alphabetize them by the 'english' fields, and then throw them all in one tiddler? Cuz I'm clueless, sorry. I'm focusing on the 10 or 11 completely complete lexicon entries to get thing working. Re: [tw] Re: More elegant way of doing this lexicon?
I'm not worried about *maximum *flexibility as there are just too many parts in an entry. The standard noun has the word, between one and ten meanings; any irregularity; an abbreviated form for deriving words; notes; the spelling, stress, IPA, and phonetic of the singular, plural, and paucal; and at least one translated sentence. Verbs, adjectives, and affixes are simpler. Stamps are making my life much easier. Still not sure how to do the English index. Some examples: 'chanyki' has three meanings that would be listed separately (color, skin, and surface), while 'chuBi, liBi, syBi,' and 'mymsy' would all be listed under 'here'. I've given 'chanyki' three fields: english1, english2, and english3... I'm sure there's a way to pull those three fields from each word entry and match them up with their title on the EnglishIndex tiddler, I just don't know how. Can y'all tell I'm not a programming person? :p On Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 3:35:05 PM UTC-7, Mark S. wrote: > I would say that for maximum flexibility, instead of fixing the > formatting, put the various bits of information into fields. [tw] More elegant way of doing this lexicon?
I'm switching my constructed language lexicon to TW5 and I expect there's a more elegant way of doing the english index. The TWC version is here - http://www.silversspace.com/conlang/nyji/nyji-lexicon.html#EnglishIndex What I was doing was making a tiddler for each English word and tagging it English then using the old Embed plug-in to throw them all in one tiddler. Since language is messy, it's not a one-to-one correlation in either direction for a lot of the words. Any ideas of an easier and better way of doing it? My current method effectively doubles the number of tiddlers needed and since I have over 300 words, it's kinda a pain. [tw] TW5 - redirect or alias macro / plugin?
I'm not a programmer so I may have missed an existing way to do this. Is there an easy way to tell it to look for a tiddler under a different name? Like how wikipedia has redirects, or a couple different plugins for tiddlywiki classic did? I'm trying to make a quick wiki for a podcast I follow. I'd prefer to be able refer to each episode either by its date (eg episode2017-02-27) or by its number (eg ep152). It's basically a test run before I move the info to wikia, so I can just do the grunt work, but I'd prefer a shortcut if there is one. For the Clint Checkett's redirect macro, is there a way to tell it not to redirect something? I'm cross-referencing stories and sometimes they have variations in titles. So I've got a summary that includes the story name - "Watch the fur fly as _Snarf Takes Up The Challenge!_" The original story had the exclamation point, the reprint doesn't, so I've got the redirect of <>. Okay, I managed to get Bleach to work as a three column fixed width theme at 900px wide. At the bottom of the stylesheet add [[StyleSheetColumns]]. In a tiddler called StyleSheetColumns paste: #mainMenu {display:block; width:170px; font-size: 1em; padding: 0 0 0 5px; position: absolute; left: 0px } #mainMenu div.tabContents li {padding-top: 0; margin-left: 2px; text-align: left; text-indent: 7px; } #contentWrapper{width:900px; position: relative} #displayArea {position: relative; left: 180px; width: 540px; margin: 0 5px} #sidebar {margin: 0} And replace the PageTemplate with this: Now to go back to messing with the tags. [tw] Changing table border and using custom css in cell
I'm trying to make a table with no borders that I am then going to use custom CSS on certain text in. I can make the table work, but every time I try to use the CSS it breaks the table. My current code: (normal tables) table {border: 2px solid black; border-collapse:collapse;} (custom table) .viewer .noborder table {border: 0} .viewer .noborder td {border: 0} .viewer .noborder tr {border: 0; border-collapse:separate} (text css) .nya {font-family:Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif; font-style:italic; font-weight:bold;} Code in a tiddler: {{noborder{ |test1|test2|{{nya{Example text}}}| |test4|test5|test6| }}} The first row will look like: |test1|test2|*Example text*| The rest will be a proper table. Any suggestions besides don't do that? I've double- and triple-checked that there are no extra spaces in the table, and nothing I do to code seems to help. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group.
