There is a "quick add" feature for adding several actions and projects at once. I don't have my mGSD open right now, so I can't remember whether it's listed in the links in the header or in the menu on the side. I believe there's even a little bit of help available in the quick add box to help you figure out how to use it.
Another way to approach inboxing is to use the +Action, +Project, +Tickler etc links in the header area. They're a quick way to add items.
