[tw5] [TW5]Can I use a field as a color code in template?

2018-11-21 Thread Terry Chen
I created a tiddler "list" like this:

<$list filter='[tag[role]]' template='role_color_template'>

and another tiddler named "role_color_template" like this:

<$view field='colorcode'/>

this is the correct way to create a template, right?

Then I created a tiddler name "customer" with tag "role". I gave a field
name="colorcode", value="#FF" to it.

So, in the "list" tiddler, it shows:
#FF

But, when I tried to put the code in "font" tag, just like this:

The quick fox...

it doesn't work.

Is that possible?

[tw] browser versions

2014-09-23 Thread Terry Jones
is there a way to determine what browser versions TW5 won't work with due
to the levels of JS and CSS used? i have found sites like caniuse.com that
let you drill down by feature, but i'm not sure what level of materials are
being used in TW5. i ask because it seems the perfect way to create some
non-linear reference materials to distribute as apps for use on phones or
tablets, but i have already found that older phones don't like some of the
script. i'd like to be able to warn users that they version X for safari, Y
for firefox, etc.

thanks, much

They are state Tiddlers. Any widget that needs a temporary unique place
to store information creates that kind of Tiddlers. You can freeley remove
 them

In my opinion it would be better if they are not treated as regular
 Tiddlers.

[tw] close all and open one

2014-06-02 Thread Terry Jones
this has probably come up before, but i keep sifting through old posts and
can't find it. can some one point me to a description of how to

* close all open tiddlers
* then open a specific one

using tw5, i want a link in a tiddler so that when you go from, for
example, [[chapter 1]] to [[chapter 2]], the chapter 1, table of contents,
any footnote tiddlers, etc. all close, then chapter 2 opens and is the only
one open. then chapter 2 will a link to close everything and go to
[[chapter 3]], etc.

related - is close all a separate tiddler in the core? i couldn't find it
but may not be looking for the right title.

thanks.

[tw] clearing the recent history

2014-05-29 Thread Terry Jones
rookie question here - is there any way to flush the history that's shown
in the recent tab? i guess it's generated based on the modification data
field for each tiddler, and i guess if i let the file sit for a while then
the data would age off the generated list, but that seems kinda klunky.
i'd like to be able to finish a series of updates to a wike, re-publish it,
and the end user be able to use it immediately with the recent tab
showing only his own actions. is there a button i've over looked?

[tw] Re: Fools rush in and get pummeled

2009-02-05 Thread Terry

You missed an important step. After editing the Site Title tiddler,
you need to close the tiddler (click on 'done') before you save your
changes. If you leave a tiddler open, the changes you make to it
don't really 'take'.

And the package is amazing. There's just a bit of a learning curve.
Luckily, the support here is excellent. Just keep at it.
