Re: Can't save mGTD in Opera 10.53

2010-06-15 Thread YinYanger
Good to know!!
But this way we can't use D3/mGTD/TW on our pen drives... :(

that's already in the Java classpath.

After some trial and error, putting it into C:\Program Files\Java
 \jre6\lib\ext worked for me.

Re: Can't save mGTD in Opera 10.53

2010-06-14 Thread YinYanger
AFAIK, it's an Opera's bug (or feature)! :(
D3 ( http://www.dcubed.ca ) can't save too.
Don't know wich changes would D3 and mGTD (and TW?) would need to work
on Opera...

There is GTD-Free http://gtd-free.sourceforge.net

Features (from the site)
A desktop application with locally stored data.
Runs on all main operating systems (requires Java 1.6).
Can be run from USB stick.
Simple and clean user interface with process oriented view on actions

User editable lists with categories for next actions, maybe/someday
actions and reference material.
Actions organized also by projects, remind dates and priority.
Tickler view for action with reminder date set.

Re: Comparison of GTD TiddlyWikis?

2009-09-14 Thread YinYanger

You must try D3 (D cubed), at http://www.dcubed.ca
It's simpler than mGTD and easy to use (IMHO)!

Just my 0.02...
Best regards.

Is there a comparison available of the various GTD-focused
TiddlyWikis? I'm curious about features, how actively each is being
 developed, and browser compatibility.

Of the two which I've looked at, MonkeyGTD seems simpler to use and
more GTD-focused than gtd_tiddlywiki, which appears more general-
purpose and where editing seems to require Wiki syntax.

However, using SeaMonkey on a Mac, MonkeyGTD displays about 10
security warning dialogs while saving changes; while I've yet to
figure out how to save changes in tiddlywiki.

Normally I'd explore quite a bit more on my own, but this list invites
n00b questions so I'm hoping for some guidance here.

 Thanks!

(IMHO) Better try D3: http://www.dcubed.ca

The very useful Giffmex tiddler says go Backstage and then Import
 Plugins

But in my copy of GTD TW Plus - no backstage, no import, no
 import plugins.

More generally - does picking one flavor or mod - mean giving up the
 modular functionality?

Re: alternative software instead of browser

2009-03-20 Thread YinYanger

Try OperaPortable 9.27 or 10 alpha from http://www.kejut.com/operaportable
(9.5x and 9.6x versions don't work with D3 :( ).
Also, you'll need the TiddlySaver.jar in the same folder of your D3,
to save the html file.

Re: D3 issues from a newbie

2009-03-18 Thread YinYanger

No, was a D3 sample file I got on a GTD Yahoo group. Then it was a
changed sample file...
But as D3 stands for do it, delegate it, defer it, I think the
delegate feature (and the waiting for list) would be a natural
feature of D3...
Thanks, BTW.
As a beginner in GTD, I prefer the simple (and very intuitive)
approach of D3 over mGTD. Only if it could run on my mobile phone
(using J2ME)...

Keep the great work!

On Mar 17, 10:48 am, Tom Otvos tom.ot...@rogers.com wrote:
 Hello Yin,

Are you perhaps confusing d-cubed with mGTD? There is no Delegate
nor TaskTimer feature in any d-cubed revision. As to the backups,
the file name format is a TiddlyWiki thing, so you would need to tweak
 that.

  Hi!

I loved D3, but since it don't works on the current version of Opera
(Opera's bug) I give it up by now.
But I tried D3 on a portable version of Opera 10 (from
 http://www.kejut.com/operaportable) and it works!!!
So I tested it yesterday and found some issues:

  1) The backups are saved in the format Name_date_time. OK. But the
time used is GMT and my time zone is GMT - 3! For instance, in the
tests made yesterday, I saved the changes at 16/03/2009 23:54:22 (my
local hour). But the file name says 17/03/2009 02:54:22!! This could
  be confuse in some scenarios.
  2) Where is the Delegate feature? I saw that in a v1.2 file, but maybe
it had some extra plugins for that...
  3) Where is the TaskTimer feature? Same as above. It could be very
  useful in some cases

  Best regards!
