[tw] MPTW trim theme
hello. i am using the awesome MPTW. i would like to have the option which hides the list of tiddlers from the trim theme in the normal theme - if someone could point me in the right direction i would appreciate it! thanks :) --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group. [tw] textarea plugin problem
i am a complete TW beginner and a nincompoop - so please forgive my ignorance. i am having problems with the size of my text edit box when editing a tiddler (it seems to ignore the number of lines i set in advanced options and even a very sizeable tiddler only gives me a textbox of about 15 lines) so i have installed the textareaplugin (or what i think installing is which is to import that particular tiddler plugin...) but i am getting none of the options that i understand it should give me (such as the ability to resize the textedit box!) and which i see on eg TW Help. :| is there a step i am missing out on? what could i be doing wrong? any help greatly appreciated. --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group. [tw] MPTW tweaks for online version??
i am a newbie tiddlywiki user so i apologize once again for my ignorance. i am using MPTW (which i love!) but... i would like to remove the theme choosing option and just set one of the themes as the default setting and also have the tabs set to "off" as default so visitors to my site don't see the list of tiddlers and i would like to remove the interface options and the backstage button from the online site as well any suggestions gratefully received... :) --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group. i have managed to figure out how set one of the themes as default so that solves that problem but i am very confused about how to make the thing behave in a different way online than it does offline. it seems to ignore the "hide edit features" preference setting when i place the file online! see here http://truthbeauty.info/v3/ as always any help much appreciated etc :) On Mar 23, 12:20 pm, johannes wrote: > i am a newbie tiddlywiki user so i apologize once again for my > ignorance. > > i am using MPTW (which i love!) but... > > i would like to remove the theme choosing option and just set one of > the themes as the default setting > > and also have the tabs set to "off" as default so visitors to my site > don't see the list of tiddlers and i would like to remove the > interface options and the backstage button from the online site as > well > > any suggestions gratefully received... > :) --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group. @alex :) if only i had known about tiddlywiki when i wrote my phd! @ken or anyone (help!) i am thoroughly confused now. i set config.options.chkHttpReadOnly = true; readOnly = true; and now i can't edit the file anymore offline or online! how does tw know when the file is being viewed online and where do i put the arguments that depend on it? is this documented somewhere obvious? can someone point me to the documentation or explain it? as always i appreciate the help? :| On Mar 23, 6:40 pm, Alex Hough wrote: > Off topic comment onhttp://truthbeauty.info/v3/: > > "Borges and TaggyTagging - a natural combination!" > > Alex --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group. omg that is brilliant. you are a genius. thanks so much for the help! i even managed to figure out how to use the same variable to determine the visibility of the backstage link/options :) would it be possible to set the visibility of "options" and the list of tiddlers in the sidebar the same way?? thanks again! --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group. [tw] modifed weblog plug in
hello everyone i would like to make a version of the weblog plugin which uses the created date to order the tiddlers and ignores the modifed date. Anyone have any idea how to modify this tiddler to do this? thanks as always! var daysOrPosts = "posts"; var numOfDaysOrPosts = "7"; var restrictTag = "journal"; function displayTopTiddlers() { if(window.location.hash) daysOrPosts = ""; if(daysOrPosts == "posts") { var tiddlerNames = store.reverseLookup ("tags","systemTiddlers",false,"modified"); if (tiddlerNames.length < numOfDaysOrPosts) numOfDaysOrPosts = tiddlerNames.length; for(var t = tiddlerNames.length- numOfDaysOrPosts;t<=tiddlerNames.length-1;t++) if (restrictTag == "" || tiddlerNames[t].isTagged(restrictTag)) story.displayTiddler("top",tiddlerNames [t].title,DEFAULT_VIEW_TEMPLATE,false,false); } if (daysOrPosts == "days"){ var lastDay = ""; var tiddlerNames = store.reverseLookup ("tags","systemTiddlers",false,"modified"); var t = tiddlerNames.length -1; var tFollower = 0; for(t;t>=0;t) if(numOfDaysOrPosts >= 0){ var theDay = tiddlerNames[t].modified.convertToMMDDHHMM().substr (0,8); if(theDay != lastDay){ numOfDaysOrPosts = numOfDaysOrPosts -1; lastDay = theDay; tFollower = t; } } for(tFollower = tFollower+1; tFollower < tiddlerNames.length;tFollower+ +){ if (restrictTag == "" || tiddlerNames[tFollower].isTagged (restrictTag)) displayTiddler("top",tiddlerNames [tFollower].title,DEFAULT_VIEW_TEMPLATE,false,false); } } } window.original_restart = window.restart; window.restart = function() { window.original_restart(); displayTopTiddlers(); } --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group. thanks alex. everywhere else when i have posted stupid questions, as i am wont to do, i have had my head bitten off :) anyway the good news is that the suggested solution of replacing the instances of "modified" with "created" works and i can now go in and edit my "journal" tiddlers to my heart's content without affecting the order of my posts. thanks for your help everyone. stay tuned for more stupid questions in the near future :p ps i enjoyed checking out the multiurl.com site link in your sig too alex! a very handy tool. [tw] Re: I need something like ToggleTag, but a little bit more
First of all thank you for these incredible resources (Tiddlywiki, plug-ins, documentation, advice). I am trying to be able to tag tiddlers displayed in a list (TWC). The cycleTag plugin looks promising with the TiddlerListMacro. It is mentioned here that the addTag can also work with the TiddlerListMacro but I have not been able to figure out how. I can display the button as part of a list item, however it tags the tiddler containing the list and not the tiddler displayed on that list item. The solution might have been mentioned somewhere else but I can't seem to find it. Any advice? [tw] Re: I need something like ToggleTag, but a little bit more
Thank you very much for the answer. I looked at the link suggested and tried it, I feel I am missing something that already exists. It is probably in the direction of evalled parameters, so when a macro like ToggleTagTB or AddTagMacro or TagSearchPlugin has an option to add the parameter "title" I should be able to do "title:{{...}}" and refer in a generic way to the tiddler being displayed as a list item. Or figure something out as a transclusion like the CycleTagMacro: "<>" but that is way over my head right now. Re: [tw] Re: printing
Dear Josiah, Dear Ton, Thank you so much for your solutions. Both worked magnificently. I guess which one to use depends. On circumstances and purpose: To print one tiddler only from an unmodified TW one would go in via the info panel. To buld a new application one would do whatever one could to adjust it for ease of use (so CONTROL + P works beautifully). The way I regard TW is almost like a stemcell: it can devolop into almost anything: notebook, database, word processor, presentation, mathermatical machine, etc). Thank you again. I think it highlights something important. You say "What I did propose is not a workaround but the standard TW way to do it." I agree its a standard way that TW can do it. BUT should it HAVE to? The fact you HAVE TO is a WORKAROUND. You suggest such extra work ONLY because you browser or OS does not apparently support the easier option that is BUILT INTO TW.
