[tw] Notetaking tool like Notational Velocity on TiddlyWiki basis?

2010-07-28 Thread jurij m. lotman
just a spontaneous idea: can someone build a tool like that based on a
TiddlyWiki infrastructure? i think i'd love it.

it would need a sort of "micro-client" though, like NV http://notational.net/

"The same area is used both for creating notes and searching. I.e.,
in the process of entering the title for a new note, related notes
appear below, letting users file information there if they choose.
Likewise, if a search reveals nothing, one need simply press return to
create a note with the appropriate title.

If a note's title starts with the search term(s), that title will be
"auto-completed". This selects the note and consequently displays it.
Correspondingly, selecting a note places its title in the search area
(De-selecting the note restores the search terms). ... try to maintain
one detail/fact/item per note ... Notational Velocity can search
thousands of notes at once and works best when information is
distributed."

the TiddlyWiki would be the backend, for organizing etc.

[tw] wish / suggestion: a TW Air remote microcontent client

2009-02-06 Thread jurij m. lotman

what i dream of is something like an Adobe Air microcontent remote
client that can

(1) read a feed/flow of tiddlers one after another (& change flows by
choosing tags), and
(2) annotate & transform tiddlers from the flow, and
(3) create tiddlers from scratch in a plain & simple input window of
the mc client and send it back to the TW (well, any TW i like to chose
from a dropdown list),
(4) tiddlyfy (grab&clip) content from other web sites or documents
like TiddlySnip used to do.

personally, i think of this Air client as a hybrid between a Pandora
client (a stream of chunks flowing by) and a Twitter client &
something like Evernote.

the TW file' UI itself would be used mostly to do meta-work: organize
things, do some gardening, maybe export & print parts of it as
documents, etc.

not being a geek, just a user, i apologize if this may sound dumb,
unpracticable, idiosyncratic etc.

cheers

martin
