[tw5] Linux Mate TiddlyDesktop: Problem with net drives

2023-06-16 Thread ha.pf...@t-online.de
I have files in the cloud and I can access them in Windows and in Linux via
netdrives.
That works for Libreoffice text files in Windows and in Linux.
With TiddlyDesktop in Windows I can access my cloud TiddlyWikis and edit
them.
TiddlyDesktop in Linxux can handle my local TiddlyWikis but If I try to
access cloud TiddlyWikis (the same which work in Windows) then I get an
error message that caja cannot handle this. Does anybody know how to solve
this problem.

[tw5] Triggering ActionWidget (e.g., action-setfield) programmatically from a macro

2021-12-08 Thread Sid T.
Hi, I'm trying to understand how to programmatically add a field or tag to
a tiddler.

I'm trying to auto add tag or field to my tiddlers. My thought was to use a
macro, such that whenever I add it to a tiddler's text, the macro adds a
tag or field value to the current tiddler.

Examples on TW5 show a button that needs to be clicked, but I'm looking to
do something like the following:

\define todo()
To Do
<$action-setfield field="mytodo" value="todo"/>

\end
---

<> // adds a field "mytodo" with value "todo"

Thanks!
Sid

[tw5] On using a hierarchical notation for tiddler titles to support better retrieval and naming

2021-11-30 Thread Sid T.
Hello,
I'm curious if there is a way to use tiddler titles to create a hierarchy,
like the one used in Dendron. For example, tiddler title "work" is parent
of both the tiddlers "work.journal" and "work.research". And "work.journal"
is a parent of "work.journal.2021_11_30" and so on. That is, a hierarchical
information structure is created by just following the 'dot notation'
naming convention.

I know i can use tags, but that is cumbersome. I currently manually title
each tiddler by using the dot notation for tiddler titles, but some
optimization for creating and searching tiddlers would be helpful.

For example, typing "work.journal" in tiddler title shows all child
tiddlers, so I don't have to think about the information structure.
Similarly, retrieval be quick, e.g., typing work.journal.* or
work.research.* would show all their children.

Thanks!
Sid

[tw5] Trying to export tiddlers, need help

2020-06-12 Thread t
I'm attempting to follow the tutorial here:
https://davidalfonso.es/posts/migrating-from-tiddlywiki-to-markdown-files
and can't seem to complete it.

The third line of this:
--render [!is[system]] [encodeuricomponent[]addsuffix[.html]] \
--render [!is[system]] [encodeuricomponent[]addsuffix[.meta]] \
text/plain $$:/core/templates/tiddler-metadata
won't run, and the .html files that are outputted contain no formatting.

Any ideas?

2020-05-30 Thread Anita T
I've tried to install TiddlyDesktop. I downloaded and unzipped it and ran

programs list, I cannot pin it to my start menu or dock, and when running,
said program doesn't use the correct dock icon. Is there a way to install
it correctly? I'm very new at this.

[tw5] Re: Stroll updates

2020-05-22 Thread t
Hey David! Thank you so much for your work, Stroll has truly been a
pleasure to move my notes and life into.

I have a question about possible functionalities of the map, if you don't
mind me asking. Proactive disclaimer: I get easily overwhelmed with code,
so forgive me if some of what I'm asking is obvious or seems downright
stupid

Do you know of any way it's possible to modify TiddlyMap so as to show all
notes and their connections to one another, ala Obsidian and Roam? And/or
show connections based on tags? Live View with the connections bumped to
unlimited is close, but not quite there.

RequestHeader edit "If-Match" '^"((.*)-(gzip|br))"$' '"$1", "$2"'
FileEtag None

and now it works!

[tw5] Can't save .html file on WebDAV

2020-05-21 Thread t
Hi all,

I've been trying to figure this out for a few hours. I've searched here,
Google, everything. Unfortunately I don't know enough about coding, command
line, etc. to figure out what I'm doing or simply not get exhausted from
troubleshooting.

I've downloaded an emptystroll.html file to run, uploaded it to a WebDAV
server I have access to, but when I click save changes, it says "Error
while saving: File changed on server"

The directory has full RW access given to everyone and there is no
authentication enabled currently. Any ideas? I've tried various browsers to
no avail, also.

Thanks guys, I'll see where I get. BTW, the plugin TiddlyMap does this
exact thing when in fullscreen mode, that's why I figured it must be
dooable. I may have to go pull that plugin apart and see how they're doing
it. In fact, they have it so that it'll open in a read-mode, with tabs for
read/edit (they're called something else, but that's the gist)

[tw5] Passing color around in macro

2020-02-21 Thread T. E. Sanders
Sorry guys, I know I have a lot of questions. I've gotten pretty far on
what I'm trying to do. I have a macro where the main one that is called
calls another in the way the tag pill macro works.

So I have colour={{{ [<__tag__>get[color]] }}} being passed to a 2nd where
I do some manipulation and whatnot.
This doesn't give me a variable like "#ff4455" but a list of parameters
with colors. One of them is "primary" and I can see this is the color from
the tiddler.

alert-background: #ffe476
alert-border: #b99e2f
alert-highlight: #881122
alert-muted-foreground: #b99e2f
background: #ff
blockquote-bar: <>
button-background:...
...
primary: #ff4455
...

SO this code:
<$vars foregroundColor=<>
backgroundColor="""$colour$"""  >

won't work with this. I hardcoded a test color and it does work that way,
which leads me to believe colour={{{ [<__tag__>get[color]] }}}. is indeed
giving me something
other than a usable hex color.

How can I get a usable $colour$ variable into this macro from the color
field in the tiddler?

Thanks again!

Another for instance:

<$set name="someBackgroundVariable" value=<<$palette$##tag-background>> >

I really need a cheat sheet for these things or something.

[tw5] Re: Filter syntax for filtering by field value

2020-02-21 Thread T. E. Sanders
For anyone looking to create a heading delimited list like what I've
outlined here that you can reorder, this is the working version:

<$list filter="[tag[todo]sort[title]each[category]]">
   <$view field='category'/>
   <$set name="category" value="""<$view field='category'/>""">

  <>

notice the field:fieldname{!!fieldvalue} is the syntax for filtering
something by the value of a tiddler's field.

Thanks for pushing me along Mark.

[tw5] Re: Filter syntax for filtering by field value

2020-02-21 Thread T. E. Sanders
Yes, that does pull up the todo list with the field category, so at least I
know the subFilters aren't broken :)

What I'm trying to do though is like this:

tagged: todo

field: category with values like "today" or "next week" etc. It's a "type"
of todo.

Looping over todos, then using the category as a heading over "types" of
todos. The list looks like:

today:
  -- make a filter
  -- don't lose my mind

next week
  -- use my todo list
  -- do stuff

I got this to work with a regular list within a list and it looked like the
above. I wanted to do it with the draggable list as the inner list instead.
Which it should be able to do with a subfilter.

The subfilter needs to filter the current tiddler (which I think the
draggable macro already does) against the value of the field "category."
I was sure something like field[category]has[today] would work, but
something ain't right.

[tw5] Re: Filter syntax for filtering by field value

2020-02-21 Thread T. E. Sanders
Actually, looking at the code for that draggable, it concats the subFilter
into the main filter, so I guess I should be leaving off the [] you'd
normally surround a filter with (assuming that's how you normally do it).
So I tried that, and I don't get the error anymore, but it doesn't actually
sub filter these based on the field called "category" with the, now
hardcoded for testing value. I'm sure it's just a syntax thing on my end.

Thanks Mark, that's good to know! I've played around with transcluding my

  <>

as my filter as a test and got "Filter error: Syntax error in filter
expression <#Filter%20error%3A%20Syntax%20error%20in%20filter%20expression>".
Even dropped it down to
  <>.
and still get that error. I can't see anything wrong with this filter. What

2020-02-20 Thread T. E. Sanders
Oh man THANK YOU! Out of all the digging I didn't spot anything that looked
like this. Works great. However, now I need to make the foreground work in
contrast to that. I know there's a way to do it as I've seen it in
TiddlyWiki here and there. It seems to be aware when the background is too
dark to create white text versus dark text.

What magic is that?

[tw5] Creating a new template failing at inline styles

2020-02-20 Thread T. E. Sanders
Hey all, I'm trying to write a template. It works as a template in that it
renders the currentTiddler, but if I try to use the color from the tiddler
on the background, it doesn't evaluate and simply renders the text as-is.

For example
\whitespace trim
\define col() {{!!color}}
<$set name="transclusion" value=<>>

<>

doesn't work. Neither did style="background-color:{{!!color}}" and it
doesn't matter if I use quotes or not. Clearly I'm missing some syntax or
something.
The goal is just to make the background the color set in the color field.
Ideas?

[tw5] search operator word with dash

2020-01-26 Thread j t
Hello,

I'm searching for "term-1" with this:

<$list filter="[tag[my-tag]search:list{search/query!!list}]"> .

In the list field of tiddler "search/query" is my search term "term-1"

The resulting list with tiddlers also includes "term-10" (or "term-11" etc.).

How do I get the list to only mention tiddlers that have "term-1" in their list
field ?

Regards, Trend.

Hi Matabele and all searching for the same question.

Thanks for the posted code! I would recommend before trying to use it and

[tw] Re: How to reduce font size of tiddler title

2014-07-09 Thread Sid T
Hi,
I am using the newer TiddlyWiki5 (TW5) and it baffled me how to change font
size since there is no StyleSheet shadow in TW5.
To modify title of a tiddler one needs to modify current theme (SnowWhite
in my case). Open theme's tiddler by going to sidebar > More > Shadow >
$:/themes/tiddlywiki/snowwhite/base
<#%24%3A%2Fthemes%2Ftiddlywiki%2Fsnowwhite%2Fbase>
Click edit icon/label to edit the tiddler and insert following into the
theme:

.title {font-size: 85%}

Save tiddler and re-load.

Is there another way to make stylistic changes to tiddlers in TW5?

[tw] D3 GTD

2010-04-03 Thread Steve T
I D'ld D3 from Tiddly spot.

One of my biggest 'Getting things Done" tasks is to get my "getting
things done' tiddlywik done !

It's a shame there is not a simple USER guide, I may have given up at
first but I'm glad I didn't.

Saying "download the example and look at it" doesn't do it for me. A
simple bullet point guide would take less time to write. I don't mean
a geeks tweak guide - I mean how to put a GTD thang into operation -
kinda like how to write a letter.

I shall have a stab at this myself as I'd like to deploy this as a
project management tool. However I'm not the person to do it as I'm
sure I'd miss loads e.g. I don't understand "contexts".

I've searched but I can't find anything. Any pointers? I'd happily
start a wiki "how to" guide and invite collaborators.

[tw] Fix: not possible to save changes

2009-09-06 Thread Dan T.

I've downloaded the last two versions of TiddlyWiki (2.5.2 and
2.5.3). I found that I got an error when I tried to save either
version saying:

"It's not possible to save changes. Possible reasons include: ..."

To fix this I had to manually edit the empty.html file with NotePad
and add a title. The tags are there but it are blank (i.e. " "). After this, it would replace whatever I put in there with
"SiteTitle - SiteSubTitle" and everything would work normally.

I would suggest putting anything in there to resolve this issue.

I am using IE7 on Vista.

[tw] Hiding certain tiddlers from the sidebar?

2009-09-02 Thread Matt T.

I wanted to know if it's possible to hide certain tiddlers from the
sidebar tabs, like timeline or even the "all" tab. I know there are
certain shadow tiddlers that do this, but how can I make other
tiddlers behave the same way?

I want to get rid of all the annoying default tiddlers I can't just
delete, but that are cluttering up my view. Right now, with no real
tiddlers of my own, there are 18 tiddlers in the timeline alone.
Given, I have a theme and some plugins installed, but I'd still like
to hide those tiddlers. They make finding my own information a pain
when its buried under a bunch of cruft.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

[tw] Re: feature idea: single-tiddly wiki

2009-06-01 Thread Robert T. West ("Tim")
Eric's SinglePageModePlugin seems to work very well, has other useful
options, and no hassling with updates.

I had originally hacked a "closeAllOthers" macro to drop into tiddlers
linked to from my MainMenu, which allows it on a per-tiddler basis, but
hardly use it anymore. Some of mine are set in single-page mode, others set
to open new tiddlers on top, mostly depending on whether I'm the primary
intended user.

There are times it would be nice to be able to override it on a per-tiddler
basis with a tag or something... a few instances where a Tiddler might be a
short menu, and it makes sense to open others below it and keep it open...
but it's not near the top of my personal priorities.

[tw] Re: Title Right?

2009-05-30 Thread Robert T. West ("Tim")
That's it, I'm sure. Using Mr. Ruston's "Classic" theme on that one, but a
theme, nonetheless. It's been so long it slipped my mind. Tried it on a
vanilla empty.html, works fine.

[tw] Re: Title Right?

2009-05-21 Thread Robert T. West ("Tim")
Eric,

Thanks! I was lookinng for a better way to do this. I'm sort of used to
having the function built into the language, and being a stranger to
Javascript I have to trace down every function call I see in TW or look it
up on the web to determine whether it's built-in or declared locally. At
first glance I assumed that "zeroPad" was part of the language, just as I
did with "formaString".

PL/SQL is basically Ada in syntax with SQL built in, much more verbose and
narrative-like (which was, of course, a goal of SQL way back when), and I
know that shows in my code. Once I fully "internalize" this it will probably
help me refactor the other string handling going on as well.
