[tw] Re: any recommendation for an IE-proof tiddlywiki template?
So I've tested mptw_empty.html on Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Apple Safari, and Internet Explorer and ... only IE displays the following error message: Error in macro <> The other browsers are silent. --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group. I have just downloaded mptw_empty.html -- when opened with IE8 the search the search box in the sidemenu is highlighted in red and displays: Error in macro <> ... --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group. The message is short and the font is small, so it looks like a thin strip. Plus I have tweaked the tiddler in such a way that only the "close" option appears and none of the time stamps or whatever interfere. It's good enough for my purpose. (If you wanted to write some code, you could even display different messages based on the user's browser - but that's probably not required.) [tw] Re: any recommendation for an IE-proof tiddlywiki template?
Don't you love it when your prayers are answered immediately? I just downloaded the latest release of IE, that is IE8 and now the CTRL++ and CTRL+- shortcuts work as expected. They can also be reached from the menu (View->Zoom) and so it is no longer necessary to View- >Text Size for proper display. Fantastic stuff. You may consider my initial question answered. Now my next task will be to have the following message displayed upon loading the page: "Optimized for Mozilla Firefox 3 and Internet Explorer 8. May not display correctly on earlier versions. Known problems with Internet Explorer 7" I'm off to try to figure that one out, Thanks Patrick. --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group. [tw] Re: any recommendation for an IE-proof tiddlywiki template?
I noticed a curious behavior in IE7: the page resizing is garbled when I call CTRL++ or CTRL+-, but if I select from the menu View -> Text Size -> Largest or Smallest the page looks fine, with characters, spaces, and boxes shrinking and expanding in the correct proportions. Hence my follow-up question: Is there a way to place code into the page to disable character resizing via CTRL++ and CTRL+- in IE7? or to force it to behave like the pull-down menu call ? thanks, Patrick. --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group.
