As It’s not urgent that I get this issue resolved, I’ll be taking my time in going about at. As I’ve been away from TW a good while, except for adding or changing an occasional tiddler, I’ll have to defamiliarize myself with the way the relevant things are done. [tw] Unable to save
This is likely an issue that has been addressed here in the recent past. I have been away from TiddlyWiki Group and TiddlyWiki itself for several years now. I have a TiddlyWiki Classic (2.7.1) configuration that I considered nearly perfect for my purposes—note taking and organizing in support of extended writing projects and management of contact information—at the point that I became inactive. For some time now TiddlyWiki has functioned for me mainly as a contact information backup. I have been running it in FireFox, which I use only for that. A week or so ago after I’d entered some new data I was notified that the Tiddler could not be saved. The notice said that saving should work with FireFox. Other possible reasons given were illegal characters in the TiddlyWiki path name and that the TiddlyWiki file had been moved or renamed, none of which are applicable. Hoping for a straightforward resolution as my TiddlyWiki configuration skills have atrophied considerably in recent years. [tw] Unable to Save on Another Computer
Hello! I copied the .jar and empty.html file to one of our servers in the office. When i open the empty.html on IE on the hosted server, I am able to edit and make changes that save to the empty.html file. However, when I open the .html file on another computer, I am able to open the edit box for the tiddler but it prevents me from typing or saving into it. I checked the permission settings on the .html file to allow read/write access for the other computers but am lost. Please advise, thank you! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group. [tw] Unable to save changes
I've been using TiddlyWiki for a long time, a year or so maybe? And until now I've never had any problems. But recently I upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04 with Firefox 15, and now whenever I try to save one of the wikis I've been using for months on end, trying to save gives me this error: It's not possible to save changes. Possible reasons include: - your browser doesn't support saving (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari and Opera all work if properly configured) - the pathname to your TiddlyWiki file contains illegal characters - the TiddlyWiki HTML file has been moved or renamed The pathname doesn't contain any illegal characters and the file hasn't been moved or renamed; I reiterate that I've been using these exact same files for ages with no problems. Read/write permissions are also set on the files properly, too. Help? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group. [tw] "unable to save backup"
I just started trying to use a TiddlyWiki to keep a journal. I have a Mac and I'm using Firefox 3.6.13. I downloaded the empty.html, played around with it, and moved it into a disk image to encrypt it. Then moved it around between different folders and renamed it. Now the main file saves fine but it's stopped making backups. Any idea what I can do to fix it? [tw] Unable to Save TW with IE8
I've just discovered TW and have down loaded both TW 2.5.3 and also the MPTW. >From the help at :- Dave Gifford's TiddlyWiki for the Rest of Us and his slideshow introduction and Morris Gray's TW Help - TiddlyWiki help file for beginners I am aware that difficulties are sometimes experienced Saving TW when using IE. I have used the Save option but no matter what, I can't get my changes saved. The error I get is:- It's not possible to save changes. Possible reasons include: - your browser doesn't support saving. (I'm using IE8.0.6001.18702, Windows XP Pro 5.1 SP3) - the pathname to your TiddlyWiki file contains illegal characters. (E:\Temp\MyTiddlyWiki.html) - the TiddlyWiki HTML file has been moved or renamed. When I joined this group I received a message from Google that "You need to enable active scripting and activeX controls". I have a number of sites which use java and activex but I'm not sure about 'active scripting' ? The basic facilities in TW all seem to work except for the ability to save. Re: [tw] unable to save in Chrome Mac due to no Java support.
It turns out, there is no Java support in the Chrome Mac beta! This might come in handy to quickly test subsequent releases: http://www.javatester.org (via http://twitter.com/rockhopper/statuses/7407968705) -- F. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group. [tw] unable to save in Chrome Mac due to no Java support.
Hello- I'm using Chrome on Mac because it's crazy fast (to me) compared to Safari, and takes up less screen real estate. The only problems so far have been interacting with java, both to save in TiddlyWiki and to use some crazy applet stuff from Citrix. It turns out, there is no Java support in the Chrome Mac beta! FND on IRC pointed me to: http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=10812 which looks to explain this, and there are fun open support issues like: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Chrome/thread?tid=070bbdb56c78099a&hl=en Basically, no TiddlyWiki saving in Chrome until it supports Java :( -Chris -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group. [tw] Unable to save backups...
Hi, I would really appreciate an answer as to how to save a back up file...For some reason, this feature stopped working and I am unsure as to why. Back up file box is still checked in preferences. Would I be able to download the Tiddlywiki program again, over the one I have on my laptop, to possibly correct this problem and restore the ability to create back up files? [tw] unable to save backup in Firefox
Hi, I am really frustrated! I have used Tiddlywiki for years and love it. But, now, it has stopped saving backups (the savebackups box is still checked) and additionally I am often unable to open my tiddlywiki file from my desktop. This is really concerning...and lastly, the program is autosaving main tiddly page, but, how do I open that from my pc? I am pretty computer illiterate and I am wondering if I need to download the whole thing again to fix this, but, I am concerned that doing so will delete all of my current tiddlers.
