[tw] tracking dates with a title or note

2013-12-27 Thread Daniel
Hello!

I would like to be able to track future dates/set reminders in tw5. I
watched the hangout where html5 controls for date were discussed and that
sounds good. But I want to ask if it is or will be possible to set
reminders for a tiddler with notes such as:

January 23, 2014 - Appointment to meet at Rico's
March 10, 2014 - Lease ends, renew it?
August 15, 2014 - Set up new plan for ...

It would be neat if one could set as many reminders as needed for a tiddler
and of course it would be nice to be able to set recurring reminders once a
week, once a month, once a year etc.

Remindermacros in twc are great and work the way I need to set reminders.

Tobias has a modded version of remindermacros in his tbgtd (getting things
done) tiddlywiki.

Do you mean that you'd like to be able to type examples like that into the
body of a tiddler, and have them automatically be recognised as events and
create reminders for them? That's unlikely to be built into the core; the
alternative would be to create three tiddlers, all tagged "task" and with a
"due" field giving the due date for the task. Then you'd use filters to
display, say, all tiddlers tagged task whose due date is today.

It's much simpler if tasks are separate tiddlers. The closest you'd get to
several reminders on a tiddler would be several tasks associated with a
tiddler, each of those tasks having a due date.

For the approach described above to support recurring reminders would
require some specialised comparison mechanism that extended the "due" date
field to store the recurrence pattern.

Best wishes

Jeremy.
