TonyM, no, it's not in my email client, perhaps because I am using a webmail 
which only offers bold and italics.

Not to worry, I'll just make sure there are at least 2 empty lines between my 
comment and the code.

 When you are editing a post, there is a toolbar above the edit box.  The 
 last item in the toolbar is "{ }".  This is for styling code.

 Select the text you want to style, and then press the "{ }" button.

 Note: GoogleGroups sometimes adds extra newlines in the code-formatted 
 content.  These can be manually edited out once the formatting has been 
 applied.

Try using the back tick surrounding text

If I am wrong the above wont look like code.
