[tw5] Re: using jTab with TW5

2021-02-11 Thread Euthymious
Back in 2016 there was a dicussion about implementing VexTab as a TW plugin
(https://groups.google.com/u/1/g/tiddlywiki/c/nh5vMpPeEvg/m/t7aZpxltGwAJ
and
https://groups.google.com/u/1/g/tiddlywiki/c/R_B82izJoj8/m/DkrILS6EGQAJ)/
As far as I know, it was never implemented due to license incompatibility
(VexTab uses MIT license) and the default export mechanism used in VexTab
module, which is not supported in TW5.

Maybe we should have a look at AlphaTab (http://www.alphatab.net/,
https://github.com/CoderLine/alphaTab)
— it engraves both staff notation and guitar tabs from its own text-based
format called alphaTex, MusicXML and .gp4-.gp7, and also produces audio
playback. It is licensed under Mozilla Public License 2.0 and uses named
exports.

 Hai all,

Big fan of TW and been using it for a long time on a multitude of
different projects.. (always learning something new). Seriously.. i thinks
its a compulsive addiction wikifying everything.

I came across some javascript that will display guitar notation using
vector graphics (http://jtab.tardate.com/). I scoured a number of
posts on how to implement it, but it seems the instructions were meant for
TW Classic (ie, Eric Shulmans detailed post here
 https://groups.google.com/g/tiddlywiki/c/YN3tNEiv3vc).

I know its a reach, but can anyone point me to a reference for
incorporating javascript based code for use as a macro in TW5?

 Thank you in advance,

 MJ
