Re: D3 or Monkey

2010-07-30 Thread jonas thomas

I tried D3 and a number of other TD-based solutions. The big thing in
favor of mGSD (Monkey): subprojects. I don't recall any other
solutions with this ability. It isn't perfect, but it at least
recognizes that some projects are connected.

I should have mentioned that part. D3 is not very strong on sub-projects.
My latest work around on that has been to start to put the main leg on a
waiting action, create a new (sub) project, and share tags. Cumbersome, but
more or less works for me.

The recent update was also helpful. Some of these solutions look
promising until you realize that they were long ago abandoned.

Which recent update are you refering to?

D3 or Monkey

2010-07-27 Thread d...@emu
Hello. I am new to GTD and to the D3 and Monkey tiddly wikis. I've
been trying to use both, one for work, one for home, and it is
maddening trying to update two systems. The problem is I can't decide
between them and would like to make an informed decision before
investing completely in either. Is anyone aware of some sort of an
objective review or feature comparison? Or please just post which you
chose to use and why if you found yourself in the same quandry when
you were getting started.

Thanks.

Hello Don,
First off, was up in your neck of the woods this past summer for a seminar.
Yipsilanti is nice.
Anyway.. I was sort of in your boat.
I like the simplicity of D3 but the lack of realms is really irritating
Having said that though, TomO had given me some idea's on creating a pseodu
realm using d3.
It works for me, although it's a bit cobbled together.

I don't know if that helps you. If your sticking with D3 you might want to
search on my name Jonas Thomas for some of the other issues I've had and
the tweaks that I've made.
