Re: [time-nuts] Trimble GPSDO board
Hi Arthur, I looked at all your emails. This is the only reference to reading something from inside the unit: >"The one error I did notice is I said the board locked after it found satellites but that is incorrect." You have no other details on RS232 on the email of August 22 (I rec at 7:01pm EDT, you sent at 6:25pm EDT). Are you talking about another email? I must have missed something. Help me, please repost that section of your email please. [time-nuts] Absolute Time Model 300
All, I recently acquired an Absolute Time Model 300 GPSDO. It is a very old unit (late 1990s vintage). I have been unable to find any information online about it, besides eBay listings. It does power on, and the digital stuff seems to be working. I have tried connecting an antenna but it does not find satellites, or give any indication that it's looking really. There is an unknown fault code on the screen (0B00). I've done some troubleshooting around the inside, checked voltages etc, and can't find anything obvious that is wrong. Does anyone have any information or documentation on this model? I'd like to give it one last shot at working again before I strip it and re-use the enclosure for another project. Re: [time-nuts] datum 3930-6500
> Should this still work as a frequency reference? Yes. Everything should work just as well/poorly as it always did except the date will be off by 1024 weeks. (or some multiple of 1024 if we all last a few more years) -- These are my opinions. [time-nuts] datum 3930-6500
I acquired a datum 9390-6500 labeled (AVO GPS-6500) at a hamfest yesterday. The unit tracks and lock's however the time is incorrect. I understand that this is a rollover problem. Is there any "fix" for this? I have tried to search the archives but that proved to be to difficult for me. If there was ever any discussion on this in REGARD TO THIS DEVICE,perhaps some one could direct me to the archive location. Should this still work as a frequency reference? Re: [time-nuts] Trimble GPSDO board
Arthur, I did read your posts before I composed my email. You made no mention of getting the RS-232 to work, and you made no mention of the MACT switch. Yours worked from the start. I am not having such good luck. I got it to lock once, I notice the 1pps comes out almost immediately, even after being off overnight. I thought this output was a result of GPS lock and this locked in less than 10 seconds. So in my case, it still has locked only once, and I don't see anything coming out of the serial port, so it's difficult to make any other evaluations. The green activity light is on solid then after the oven reaches temp (the current draw goes down) the light starts blinking. The output from the oscillator is there, so I will X-Y it with my Z3805A and see if the oscillator is truly locked to GPS. [time-nuts] Trak Systems 8821E-20 GPS Clock documentation?
All, I just got a Trak Systems 8821E-20 GPS Clock at a very reasonable price. Before the purchase, I was not able to retrieve any specific information on this model, but as it turns out, it has a Isotemp OCXO91-17D 10 MHz oscillator disciplined by what appears to be the Motorola B8121Z1116 Oncore 8-channel receiver module. I have uploaded a couple of photos for your viewing pleasure. The DAC (U7) to the left of the OCXO is an AD7849AR, by the way. I found that some of the RS-232 queries and commands listed in the technical manual for the 8821A-11/12 GPS Clocks work with the 8821E-20, but far from all. Obviously, I would love to have a manual for the 8821E-20. Does any of you have any kind of documentation on the 8821E-20?
