[time-nuts] Spectracom 9189 options

2017-10-30 Thread Bob Bownes
Folks,

I've just acquired a spectracom 9189 and can see from the back that
frequency, 1PPS, and IRIG were options. I presume these were add in boards,
but thought I would check with you folks to see if anyone has any knowledge
of the details.

Thank!
Bob

[time-nuts] HP 5335A Question

2017-10-30 Thread Richard Mogford
I have an HP 5335A and I am measuring the output of a Suzler 2.5. I
have a GPSDO 10 MHz input into the back of the 5335A.

There is mention in the manual that the counter can display 11 or 12
digits (in addition to the two Exponent digits). I presently have it
displaying nine digits.

Does anyone have one of these and could help me figure out how to get 12
digits displayed? The manual is not very helpful here.

I think single shot is only 9 digits. Press "mean" on the left side to get
a 100 sample average that gives you more digits.

I have a 5334A, no 5335.

As Jeff said, you get more digits with a longer gate time.

If you make the gate time long enough on a 5334A, you can get more digits via
HPIB than fit on the screen.
