Indeed. LaPlace is a trusted friend. A smile came over my face when I saw that
you had put up that line of poles. :) That is exactly how I interpred it some
15 years back or so. Your twist was however on the filtering etc which I didn't
spend too much time on back then.

I have developed a theory of the delay line.  Using the
Laplace transform of the phase, mathematics is amazingly simple.

I came across an old article on the Delay Line Discriminator for Phase Noise 
Measurements (Microwave Journal 1983). 

I don't think the theory has changed much since then :-)
