I am concerned that a narrow 10MHz filter might give significant phase shifts (the YCL is a LP) is this likely to be a problem?? Alan G3NYK Yes, this type of filter will have a temperature dependent phase shift, which can show up as a measurable frequency shift if the temperature is ramping. In the 5071A, we eliminated these sorts of circuits for this reason. Another reason was to get rid of adjustments. In the 5071A, we use a larger number of fixed low loaded Q filter elements rather than a few adjustable high loaded Q filter elements. In a doubler (as opposed to say a X7) there is no need to have any high Q resonators.
