On linux we continue trying to be like a gcc v2.6.9 (not a
__STDC_VERSION__=199901L  compiler by default)  limits.h is taken from
a gcc compiler.

What is the license of the file you copied from GCC? The contents seems close 
to what's in the system limits.h. I'm also not sure about the intptr_t, why is 
it only defined for non Linux systems?
