[Tinyos-help] oufff....from where should i start?
Hello all... i am kind of confused... totally confused... i am intrested in tinyos and nesC. In particular i would like to learn some things about these 2 topics and then maybe write an app to test my earnings... I tried to start from the official site www.tinyos.net. There, the first thing i realised was that they "redirect" you to the links of Moteiv Telos and Corssbow Mica to "get started".. But if you read them, you learn some thing about the hardware and not learn some usefull stuf... if then, you start reading the lessons from the tutorial you ll find some code of nesC apps but then you realize that you dont know not even a singe command of this programming language. if you try to learn nesC...you ll find (thats the only official thing i found till now) only a reference (nesC 1.1 Language Reference Manual)... if you try to learn about tossim, you ll run onto zigbe and beacon based algorithms...things i dont even heard before! Maybe i haven't done a proper search..maybe i ve tried to read from the end...i dont know.. I am not afraid of reading and searching but please tell me from where should i start? what are the documents i should read and what is the proper order-cohesion?? Many many thanks! Hmmm. The Getting Started guides are intended for people who have hardware in their hands. Really true, I agree with you in all, this project seems really not open also if it is an open source project. It's not easy to enter in the mechanism respect to the gain you can have using it. The tutorial is a almost good starting point but it was never updated, I don't think that 10 htm pages it's enough, companies like Intel or Universities may offer somethng more to the community in term of documentation. But I told all this just because in 2 years I've not found a way to have a feeling with tinyos and sensor networks, maybe one day ... :-) Good evening Eng.
