[Tinyos-help] Problem Compiling

2009-09-18 Thread David Rodenas Herráiz

Hi

I'm working with imote2 and tinyos 2.x .When I compile my application, appears
this error at the end:

/usr/lib/gcc/xscale-elf/3.4.3/../../../../xscale-elf/bin/ld: region SRAM is full
 (build/intelmote2/main.exe section .data)
/usr/lib/gcc/xscale-elf/3.4.3/../../../../xscale-elf/bin/ld: address 0x5c0989ec
of build/intelmote2/main.exe section .bss is not within region SRAM
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [exe0] Error 1

Can anyone tell me what it means? I asked about this and was told that it is
because there is only 256 kB of SRAM and my data structures exceed that, but my
data structures aren't so big. Please, I need help!

Thanks

David

[Tinyos-help] Problem TOSSIM!

2012-09-07 Thread wasif masood
After a lot of struggle, I managed to bring down the problem to few lines
of Errors. At this point, the following is the apprently the major show
stoper,
./tos/lib/tossim/sim_packet.c:44:21: fatal error: message.h: No such file
or directory

Can someone please help me out in solving this issue, cos just simply
copying the message.h file in tossim folder is not gonna help since I
tried it and after thatit start complaining about other missing header
files, it is apparent that there is some missing reference/path to the
necessary folder which I have somehow missed or over written, I would
really appriciate if someone could dispense with some pointers.

Here is the complete error!

What do you get when you type:

$ echo $MAKERULES

Did you set up the environment variables in your ~/.profile or ~/.bashrc?

export TOSROOT=
export TOSDIR=$TOSROOT/tos
export CLASSPATH=$TOSROOT/support/sdk/java/tinyos.jar:.
export MAKERULES=$TOSROOT/support/make/Makerules

[Tinyos-help] Problem with Ctp

2007-09-03 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Hi, I am a student at Catania University.

I would like to implement in
TinyOS 2 a mechanism of random routing.
I thought to change the
behavior of the application TestNetwork, through the modification of
the file CtpRoutingEngineP, relatively to
task void updateRouteTask ()
  but when I execute the application TestNetwork, I realized that the
RoutingTable does not contain exact values. Infact through this code:
…….
task void updateRouteTask() {
uint8_t i;

routing_table_entry* entry;
routing_table_entry* best;

uint16_t minEtx;
uint16_t currentEtx;
uint16_t linkEtx,
pathEtx;
if (state_is_root)
return;

best = NULL;
/* Minimum etx found among neighbors, initially
infinity */
minEtx = MAX_METRIC;
/* Metric through
current parent, initially infinity */
currentEtx = MAX_METRIC;

//dbg("TreeRouting","%s\n",__FUNCTION__);

for (i = 0; i < 10; i++) {
entry =
&routingTable[i];

dbg("TreeRouting", "routingTable[%d]: neighbor: [id:
%d parent: %d]\n",i, entry->neighbor, entry->info.parent);

[Tinyos-help] Problem with HPLPowerManagement

2007-09-05 Thread Muhammad Azhar

Hi,

   I tried compiling the CountSleepRadio program (in tinyos 1.x/apps directory)
which uses HPLPowerManagementM on TinyOS 1.1.15 using my MicaZ mote. However,
I realised that the Timer.fired() event is only done once, based on the output
of the LED. I don't think this should happen because I searched through this
thread and saw (a reply by Ravi Prasad to Tarun Bansal's query on
"HPLPowerManagement Issues"):

For example if you use HPLPowerManagement then the mote (I tested this on micaz
motes) can wakeup on Timer event but not on a UART receive event.

   However, it seems that the mote doesn't wake up based on the Timer event -
or at least, it is only done once. Can anyone shed some light on this issue?
   Thank you.

Azhar___

[Tinyos-help] Problem with AM.sendDone

2007-09-17 Thread Roberto Gioè
Hi all,

I'm trying to testing the RadioCountLeds example.
I runned the python script as written in the third tutorial as reguard as
tinyos 2.x documentation.
I have a problem with the AM.sendDone event: I can read that the packet is
sent but no sendDone event occurs.
Is it a normal situation?
Thanks in advance

[Tinyos-help] problem with MTS400

2007-11-05 Thread Bo Xu
Dear all:

Right now, I uploaded TOSBase program to one mica2 mote and XSensorMTS400 on
the other mica2 mote. I followed the instruction in crossbow's
"Getting_Started_Guide" document. I wanted to use XListen to display the data
from MTS400. I got the following information:

$ xlisten -b=57600 -s=COM3 -r -p -c
xlisten Ver:$Id: xlisten.c,v 1.17 2004/11/18 04:45:10 mturon Exp $
Using params: [baud=0x1001] [raw] [parsed] [cooked]
COM3 input stream opened

No data was shown on the screen. Do you have any idea about this?

I think the mote attached to the mib520 can recieve the data cause the green
light on the mib520 flashed every 15 seconds. And the mote programed with
XSensorMTS400 worked too (The red light on it flashed every 2 seconds, and the
green light flashed about every 15 seconds).

Thanks a lot!

[Tinyos-help] problem with xserve

2008-02-19 Thread Soumya Jain
Hello,

I am just starting to learn TinyOS, and am using Crossbow's Moteworks 2.0.

I have been able to succesfully load blink, and am trying to run a simple light
sensing application. The application has loaded correctly, because I have
configured three LEDs to indicate -

Firing of timer
Sampling of light
Sending of data back

And all three are blinking correctly. However, when I use xerve in my cygwin,
it gets stuck at "Opening serial device /dev / ttyS3 @ 57600". I know that the
port is COM4, as shown in the Device Manager. I am using a USB to DB9
converted, with a mib510 board, and mica2 mote.

I request you to solve my problem.

Thanks,

[Tinyos-help] Problem with MultiHopOscilloscope

2008-05-20 Thread Antonio Prados Vilchez
Hi TinyOS users!!

I'm trying to understand how Collection Tree Protocol works.
MultiHopOscilloscope would help me to do that, so I have downloaded it into
three MICA2 motes. The problem is that it doesn't work. I have modified the
application in order to know why it happens. The Send.sendDone event doesn't
occur when a radio-transmission has finished. Am I doing anything wrong? Does
anybody know if there is an actualized version of this application? Or should I
modify anything in some library?

Thanks in advance.

[Tinyos-help] problem with TOS_BCAST_ADDR !!!

2008-05-23 Thread fatima zohra
Hi,
i have a small problem when I send a diffusion message using TOS_BCAST_ADDR
i wonder if TOS_BCAST_ADDR can send the packet to all nodes even if they
aren't nieghbors to the sender node ???
to be clear; this is my network topology :

1:2 1:3
2:4 2:5 3:5 3:6
4:7 5:7 5:8 6:8
7:9 8:9

however i get many messages like this one :

3: receiveInterestMessage: got INTEREST: sink: 1 seq: 0 prev: 4 ttl: 9

which means that node 3 receives a packet from node 4 while there is no
"direct" link between these two nodes !!!

can anyone tell me if this problem may be caused by TOS_BCAST_ADDR
thus, how can I fix it ?

thanks a lot.

[Tinyos-help] Problem in sending

2009-08-13 Thread Omar Losi
Hi all,

I kindly ask you to help me with the following problem:

1) NODE A: send an hello packet
2) NODE B: answers to node A
3) NODE A: after receiving answer from B, must send data to node B and these
data must be read from the memory(an array that simulates flash memory)

n.b.: Reading and writing in the array are effected by two interfaces
implemented by me

The problem is the following: when node A tries to send data stored in the
array, many times the radio is busy.(as node A is sending an hello packet,
right?)
Can you suggest me a solution in order to send these data?

Many thanks for your help

Hi all,

i kindly ask your help for the following problem: i have a node base station

The problem is that in the base station node the event sendDone never occur
thus after the first send the radio is always busy(the var busy that indicate
the state of the radio is set to False in the sendDone event).

p.s.: the program run in TOSSIM and in my program there are other interfaces
AMsend that work well

Someone have any idea?

[Tinyos-help] Problem with extern

2009-12-22 Thread Srinivas Hegde
Hi,
 I have written a code that gets the local time at start and stop of each
radio period in MSp430PowerCycleP.nc. I would like to use these variables in
my application code to find the actual ON time of the radio. But, the extern
gives me error

implementation {

  extern uint32_t stop_time;
  extern uint32_t start_time;
  extern uint8_t over;
  uint32_t local_time[2];

...

event message_t* Receive.receive(message_t* msg, void* payload, uint8_t len)
{

  call Leds.led2Toggle();

  if (len == sizeof(Msg)) {
local_time = ((stop_time * over) - start_time);

   Msg* rcvpkt = (Msg*)payload;  <--- Line no 127

..

I am getting the following error:
In component `CommC':
CommC.nc: In function `Receive.receive':
CommC.nc:127: syntax error before `*'
CommC.nc:131: `srlpkt' undeclared (first use in this function)
CommC.nc:131: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
CommC.nc:131: for each function it appears in.)
CommC.nc:131: `rcvpkt' undeclared (first use in this function)

The code works fine if I remove the following line:
local_time = ((stop_time * over) - start_time);

I think there is some error in the extern variables usage. Can you please
help me with that.

Thanks,
 Srinivas Hegde

[Tinyos-help] Problem with nesdoc

Hi.
I'm working on Ubuntu 9.10 and I have a problem when I want to use nesdoc.
When I type "make telosb docs" it compiles without problems, makes the list
of components, interfaces, and at the end this error ocurrs:

Format: "cmap" not recognized. Use one of:

Apparently, nesdoc can't use png and cmap format to create the program

[Tinyos-help] Problem with Timer62500C

Hi all!

I'm using TinyOS on Cygwin with a TmoteSky (TelosB). I want to use the

}
And the module "SenseC" :

#include "Timer62500hz.h"

module SenseC
{
  uses {
interface Timer;

[Tinyos-help] Problem with Oscilloscope

2010-06-16 Thread ankush shah
Hi,

I am working with Iris motes and mts400 sensor board. I am using
tinyos-2.1.1. Firstly, there were no drivers for mts400, so I downloaded
from CVS repository.
Then I compiled the oscilloscope application with sensorboard=mts4000.
Compilation is proper and then install the application on the mote and base
station.

But, when I read the packets using MViz application, I am getting a constant
reading. I don't why? Is there something wrong with MTS400 drivers. Is
someone able to get mts400 with iris mote working?

Also I read the OscilloscopeAppC.nc, which uses DemoSensorC component and
there is no DemoSensor.nc file in the mts400 downloaded from CVS repostiroy.

[Tinyos-help] Problem with mica2

2008-06-13 Thread Marvin Lemos
Hi everyone,

I'm a beginner in TinyOS and I got a problem with a application in Mica2.

I've started with Blink application and everything got fine. The Leds really
blinked. Then, I tried to adapt the Blink to send some information through
the radio, but doesn't worked out. I noticed some thing strange: My original
Blink application works fine, but if I just put the ActiveMessageC component
in the configuration's file, the led dont light up ( I've adapted the
application to just light up one led). It's like the application doesnt go
to the Boot.booted event... I dont know what to do. Can anyone help me to
solve that problem?. Below, some samples of my code.

module BlinkC
{
  uses interface Timer as Timer0;
  uses interface Leds;
  uses interface Boot;
  uses interface SplitControl as AMControl;
}
implementation
{
  uint8_t counter = 0;

  event void Boot.booted()
  {
call Timer0.startPeriodic( 250 );
call Leds.led0Toggle();
  }

---

configuration BlinkAppC
{
}
implementation
{
  components MainC, BlinkC, LedsC;
  components new TimerMilliC() as Timer0;
  components ActiveMessageC;

  BlinkC -> MainC.Boot;

  BlinkC.Timer0 -> Timer0;
  BlinkC.Leds -> LedsC;
  BlinkC.AMControl -> ActiveMessageC.SplitControl;
}

Hi,
I'm trying to follow the TinyDB tutorial and can't get TinyDBApp to
compile. I also can't get the TinyDB java client to compile either and the
two problems seem to be related. I'm using the MICA2 mote from Xbow and
running TinyOS-1.1.10.

When trying to compile the java client I switch to:
 /opt/tinyos-1.x/tools/javanet/tinyos/tinydb

then run make, at which point I receive the following error:

Hi,

I 'm trying to get 6lowpan to work following the steps from the README

fine, but when I try to run the serial tunnel driver (Step 3, point 2
of the README) by executing "sudo ./serial_tun /dev/ttyUSB0 telosb", I
get the following error:

[Tinyos-help] Problem with python?

2008-10-10 Thread Nicole Neureiter
Hi everybody,

I seem to have a problem with python when I'm using TOSSIM. I wrote a program
to perform a hashing. When I use only 64 bit for the hash value the program
runs without a problem. But when I want 128 bit the program terminates with
"stack smashing detected: python terminated. Aborted (core dumped). Using dbg
to give out messages for debugging I can see, that my program finishes before
it gives this error. As I wanted to determine the troughput I want to let it
run in a loop but this is impossible at the moment.

I'm using TinyOS 2.0.2 under XUBUNTOS in VMplayer

[Tinyos-help] Problem about time.getHigh32()

2009-02-26 Thread Chenda Liao
Hello,guys. I have a problem to use time interface of SimpleTimeM.
I tried to get the system time and I find the interface 'time' can do this
job.

This is the interface:
interface Time {
  /**
   * get current time. Return it in tos_time_t structure
   **/
  async command tos_time_t get();
  /** get the high 32 bits of current time */
  async command uint32_t getHigh32();
  /** get the lower 32 bits of current time */
  async command uint32_t getLow32();
  /** get clock phase offset since last clock tick
* in unit of micro-seconds.
   **/
  async command uint16_t getUs();
}

So, in my function, I write:

atomic pack->xData.datap1.time_high=call Time.getHigh32();
atomic pack->xData.datap1.time_low=call Time.getLow32();

However, I always get 0. I tried to find the problem.
First, I write:
atomic pack->xData.datap1.time_high=;
And then I made sure that above part is right.
So the problem should be in 'call Time.getHigh32()'.

So how can I fix this problem. Why I always get the 0 of the system time?
Thanks guys

[Tinyos-help] problem with Tossim

2009-02-27 Thread Moni GV
Hi!

I'm trying to work with tinyOS with a Wireless sensor network. To simulate a
network, I try to use TOSSIM. But I think I have problems with the integration
of tossim in tinyos lib.

It is supposed that to build the application, using the make-command is enough:
make micaz sim
But I don't get any simulation packet. So when I execute the application for 1
mote:
build/micaz/main.exe 1

I get error messages about illegal instruction...

The environment I'm working with is Moteworks of Crossbow. TinyOS is integrated
on it. I hesitate whether this is a problem for the simulator to work properly.

Thank you!!

[Tinyos-help] Problem with SerialForwarder

2009-03-27 Thread Lazar Supic
Hi,

I have read tutorial about "Mote-PC serial communication". At the same time I
have tested given examples on the iris mote via mib520. I am trying to run
second SerialForwarder, whose source is the first SerialForwarder, like in
example in tutorial. But I can not run second SerialForwarder, because the
first SerialForwarder is closed at that moment. According to the tutorial the
main goal of the SerialForwarder is posibilty that more applications have
access to the port at the same time. But in my case I think that is not
possible, because when I run first SerialForwarder I can not type any command
in Cygwin. It seems to me that SerialForwarder waits something and I can not
connect any application to first Serial Forwarder.

Can you help me?

Where was I wrong?

[Tinyos-help] Problem using BusyWaitMicroC

2009-04-20 Thread zahid iqbal
Hi,

I am writing a simulation in TOSSIM under tinyos-2.1.0.

In my application, I have to introduce some delays, in the order of
microseconds. I am using,

BusyWait.nc
BusyWaitMicroC.nc

Whenever I compile, I get the following error.

/opt/tinyos-2.1.0/tos/platforms/micaz/BusyWaitMicroC.nc: In function
‘BusyWaitMicroC$BusyWait$wait’:
/opt/tinyos-2.1.0/tos/platforms/micaz/BusyWaitMicroC.nc:40: error: impossible
constraint in ‘asm’

I don't understand this, since I am not much familiar with assembly coding. Can
this be because of using a wrong BusyWaitMicroC for my interface. Please note:

I use the following width and precision,   uses  interface BusyWait;

I am simulating for micaz platform and hence I use "make micaz sim". It is
probably because of this reason, that my compiler picks BusyWaitMicroC from
/tos/platforms/micaz/BusyWaitMicroC.nc
What can be the problem here,

Any help will be much appreciated.

zahid iqbal

[Tinyos-help] problem with transmission

2009-06-05 Thread Mohammad S. Hashemian
 Hi all,

I ran into a very weird problem recently. I was using Crossbow MoteWorks
framework for writing a program and installing it on some MicaZ motes. The
program was sensing some data from MTS310 sensor board and report them to
the base station. After writing the code, I picked some new MicaZ motes and
installed the program on them, everything was working fine. After one day I
had to reset the motes to change their battery, when I turned them on again,
most of them (around 80%) couldn't join the network alone, i.e. if I was
just turning that mote on alone with server, the mote couldn't find the
server, even though they were right next to each other! But when I was
picking another fresh new mote and installing my program on it and putting
it between the old mote and the server, the old mote could create a two-hop
network and send it's data to the server via the new mote!
I checked the old motes with XMTS310 program (the one which ships with
MoteWorks framework), but the old motes were just collecting the data and
sending the packets, but server never could receive those packets from old
motes (probably because the wireless transmission power of the old motes
were too low that server couldn't receive them!)

Does any one have any idea or any clue that what might be the source of this
problem? I really appreciate any response.

Thanks in advance,
Mohammad

[Tinyos-help] problem in drip

2009-07-16 Thread qiu ying
My application uses ctp+drip+lpl on iris platform. I've measured the mote's
current and noticed it increased to 7-8mA exactly 10 minutes after the mote
booted, I think it means the MCU is fully running and never sleeps.

Finally I locate this problem in TickleTimerImpIP.nc, in *genarateTime()*:

trickles[id].remainder = (trickles[id].period << scale) - newTime;

before run this statement, the variable are:
trickles[id].period=64,scale=10,newTime=63471
after run this, trickles[id].remainder=4294903825, then pass it to
startOneShot() and the timer system is in the loop of fireTimer() and
updateFromTimer(). I find 4294903825(0x0811) just the complementary code
of 63471(0xF7EF), so (trickles[id].period << scale) seems get a zero. I
guess it's a bug in avr-gcc, but not the C code.

I just store the trickles[id].period value in a local variable temp_period
and everything seems work well.

Hi All,

I am using Basestation for one of my applications. I have two motes with
Basestation running on them and I use Testserial to send serial data to one
of the motes and Listen on the other mote to test what I receive . But the
red LED blinks indicating the packets are dropped and I don't see anything
on Listen. I'm using mica2 motes and set the radio frequency 91640.

When I program one mote with blinktoradio and the other with basestation it
runs fine.(radio frequency 91640)

What could be the problem? I now need to send serial data at 2400bps. Do I
need to change the baud rate in the platform-specific file of mica2

[Tinyos-help] Problem with EasyCollection

2011-05-02 Thread Tommaso Migliorini
Hi to all,
I'm doing the TinyOS tutorial Collection section (
http://docs.tinyos.net/index.php/Network_Protocols), and all works. But how
I try to add a java class that prints received messages does not work
anymore.
The java class is:

import net.tinyos.message.Message;
import net.tinyos.message.MessageListener;
import net.tinyos.message.MoteIF;

public class EasyCollection implements MessageListener {

MoteIF mote;

public static void main(String[] args) {
EasyCollection me = new EasyCollection();
me.run();
}
 void run(){
mote = new MoteIF();
mote.registerListener(new EasyCollectionMsg(), this);
}

public synchronized void messageReceived(int to, Message m) {
if(m instanceof EasyCollectionMsg){
EasyCollectionMsg msg = (EasyCollectionMsg)m;
System.out.println("Received packet sequence number " + msg.get_counter() +
" from node number " + msg.get_nodeid());
}
}
}

in the Makefile, I add:

BUILD_EXTRA_DEPS += EasyCollection.class
CLEAN_EXTRA = *.class EasyCollectionMsg.java
CFLAGS += -I$(TOSDIR)/lib/net -I$(TOSDIR)/lib/net/4bitle
-I$(TOSDIR)/lib/net/ctp
EasyCollection.class: $(wildcard *.java) EasyCollectionMsg.java
javac -target 1.6 -source 1.6 *.java
EasyCollectionMsg.java:
mig java -target=null $(CFLAGS) -java-classname=EasyCollectionMsg
EasyCollection.h EasyCollectionMsg -o $@

How to run the class never enters the MessageReceived public synchronized
void method (int to, Message m) and begins receiving bad packets, after a
while I get this exception by SerialForwarder:

Exception in thread "Thread-31" java.lang.Exception: TOSComm JNI library

[Tinyos-help] Problem with TOSBase

2011-05-13 Thread Hong Nhung Nguyen
Hi all,

I am currently working with a single-hop wireless sensor network, I used the
stuff from Crossbow (2 IRIS motes) and now having a problem with the mote which
is acting as a base station. The sensor readings can be read by using XSniffer,
but MoteView could not read these data and I do not know why?.

I still can not figure out what is wrong with the code? Do I need to modify the
code of TOSBase.nc?

[Tinyos-help] problem with CC2520

2011-10-09 Thread Oleksandr Telyatnikov
Hello everyone,

I have developed a new mote with ATmega1281 and CC2520 based on micaz
design. All pins are configured exactly as in micaz.

Now I'm trying to adapt the platform tinyos-2.x/tos/platforms/micaz

I had no problems with microcontroller. I took the code related to ATmega1281
from tinyos-2.x/tos/platforms/iris. Blink compiles and run on mote fine.

But with the radio I have a problem. I'm trying to use the driver for CC2520
as in sam3s_ek but it fails. The compiler reports many errors. How can I use
the driver tinyos-2.x/tos/chips/cc2520 ?

Kind regards,

Alex

[Tinyos-help] Problem regarding deluge

2011-12-30 Thread shravan kulkarni
Hi all,
 I have a customized mote with MSP430f1612 and CC2420 radio. I just
started to work with deluge and for this, im following the steps given in
the link: http://docs.tinyos.net/tinywiki/index.php/Deluge_T2

When the steps under Quick Start in the link is followed which is for
/deluge/Blink application, everything seems to go well till we get a
notification which says of first LED Blinking.
At this point we can see the first led blinking on the hardware.

After this the code is injected and we get another notification which says
after the completion of process, mote will be rebooted and all the LED
flickers for some time and the third LED start to blink.

We can see the code getting injected to the mote but after the reboot we
dont see any LEDs flickering. First LED continues to Blink but we dont see
Third LED to Blinking.

Thanking you,
Shravan Kulkarni

P.S: Radio on the hardware is working fine.

Tinyos version: Tinyos-2.x

Operating System :Ubuntu-10.04
system configuration: intel dual-core processor 2.4GHz, 2GB RAM

[Tinyos-help] Problem with PacketParrot

2012-01-11 Thread #YONG HUI RU DORANCE#
Hi all,

I am currently testing whether PacketParrot is capable of retransmiting all the
packets stored in flash. I have modified BaseStation such that it sends a fixed
number of packets and defined the message structure such that it shows the
packet sequence number.

I installed the modified BaseStation on a mote which acts as a base station and
installed PacketParrot on another mote. When I set the counter value in the
BaseStation programme such that 6 packets are sent, PacketParrot logs these
packets successfully. However, when I power cycled PacketParrot to retransmit
the logged packets to the base station, base station only receives 4 packets. I
am checking the number of packets received by using Serial Forwarder (java
net.tinyos.sf.SerialForwarder) and the Listen tool (java
net.tinyos.tools.Listen) to view the packet sequence numbers.

I have tried sending different numbers of packets from base station to the mote
with PacketParrot but was unable to get the results I want.

However, when I sent 4 sets of 6 packets consecutively from base station to
mote with PacketParrot and power cycle once only after these 4 sets are logged.
Base station receives packets with sequence numbers 0 to 5, 0 to 5, 0 to 5, 0
to 4 (6+6+6+5 packets).

I do not understand why this is happening. I tried different combination of
numbers and it seems that the last set of packets sent is always incomplete.
Please help me with this if anyone has experience with PacketParrot or has
encountered such problems before. Thanks!

Regards,

Dorance
