Consider the Online Psychological Laboratory (OPL) that is being maintained by APA at http://opl.apa.org This is both a data collection website (because it allows one to participate in a variety of classic experiments, such as the implicit association task, Donders' three RT tasks, etc.). Data is collected and made publicly available (click on "Data" on the Menu bar at the top of the page). There is background provided for each experiment and thousands of participants' data is available so one can compare experiments with small sample sizes (i.e, low statistical power) to larger sample sizes (i.e., high statistical power). NOTE: A couple of the experiments were incorrectly updated starting in the spring 2010 (e.g., implicit association task, self-reference task). The implicit association task was fixed this past May/June, so data since then and before spring 2010 are fine. The Self-Reference effect has not yet been fixed but can use the pre-spring 2010 data. Then there is the general purpose data repository at Carnegie-Mellon; see: http://lib.stat.cmu.edu/DASL/ And then there are the good folks at the UCLA computer center that make other data available; see: http://www.stat.ucla.edu/data/ -Mike Palij New York University m...@nyu.edu --- You are currently subscribed to tips as: arch...@jab.org. In R, there is an entire package consisting of datasets: http://stat.ethz.ch/R-manual/R-patched/library/datasets/html/00Index.html (also, most libraries in R come with datasets, e.g. the lme4 package contains 'sleepstudy') Matt On Tue, Jul 17, 2012 at 10:51 AM, drnanjo wrote: > thanks so much! > -Original Message- > From: Michelle Everson > To: Teaching in the Psychological Sciences (TIPS) < > tips@fsulist.frostburg.edu> > Sent: Tue, Jul 17, 2012 7:45 am > Subject: Re: [tips] Data sets (preferably free) for Intro Stats > > > > > Have you tried to search for data sets at either of these sites? > > The Consortium for the Advancement of Undergraduate Statistics Education ( > www.causeweb.org) > > The Journal of Statistics Education ( > http://www.amstat.org/publications/jse/jse_data_archive.htm) > > This might be a good start. > > On Tue, Jul 17, 2012 at 9:38 AM, drnanjo wrote: > >> >> >> >> >> >> Hello.
