[TMIC] Gunny--NMO patient needs Doug's info..

2009-02-11 Thread Grace M.
*Hi Gunny,*
**
*We've a new NMO patient who was recently diagnosed. It was a clinical
diagnosis but with a negative NMO IGG. The neuro would like an expert
second opinion. They are looking to Johns Hopkins and Dr. Kerr. Can you
resend me his contact info? I can't believe I lost it, but I did.*

*Thanks!*

[TMIC] T-2 Lesions

2009-02-11 Thread Regina Rummel
Am going over the MRI report of the brain before seeing the neurologist.   One
notation in particular concerns me and  I quote The FLAIR study demonstrates
multiple bright T-2 lesions in the deep white tracts of both cerebral
hemispheres, etc...
Frank explained at one time that 1 lesion is TM, more than 1 is MS.
I'm scared.
What do you think?  Many thanks for your comments.

*Hi Regina, *
**
*Not always. There are any number of conditions that can, and do cause
brain lesions. The criteria for MS has to be taken in it's entirety,
before a definitive diagnosis is made. *
