were these amounts --4,000 iu a day-- prescribed?

My neuro also suggested that I take Vitamin supplements.  I take 
2000 IU capsules 2 times a day.  I even continue to take them during 
the summer months.  I do get outdoors, but not for as long as 
before.  There is also Vitamin D in my daily multivitamin I take 
each day, and also in the calcium tablets I take twice a day.  I 
don't have any info on taking 50,000 IU per day.  I guess I would do 
some internet checking, and also check with your doctor.
