[TMIC] Re: TMIC E-mail duplicates

2010-09-20 Thread bobby jim
Precisely. our e-addresses will appear twice sometimes,
once from our being in the To: line, and twice if mailing from the list.

I offen use the Bcc: line instead, specially when am e-mailing to a whole bunch
of folks.

Janice you are correct,,, maybe this will help

Hitting reply ALL only works if it is an original email from the Digest. once
we start having more repliies added to subjects then the person that replied
will get two emails if reply all is hit.

by hitting reply all the response sent will pop up two times in the person
who just replied/sent the email their email box because your email address is
included in the digest list and your email is listed seperatly on the reply.

what needs to be done is when hit reply all is to remove the individual
names/email address so it does not send 2 times.

once to the emial address and once because that persons email address is on
the Diegest.

when replying if you use just thereply button the the email will ONLY go
to the person that sent it and the entire digest list will NOT see a response.

  Example being -

Jamice email is listed in the TO:

Bobby Jim is listed in the CC and the tmis-list is also in the CC

which means Janice will get two times, once as her email address and once
because hers in on the eskimo list.

But why are we getting the digest thing at all? How are we supposed to
know to do that - never heard of digest and it's rules

I hear that some of you are getting multiple copies of the Digest.
  Hmm.

The only thing that a couple of us can think of is...

Some of you are hitting the Reply-to-all button

Don't. Stop. Belay. Give it up.

When replying to a TMIC Digest e-mail, ONLY use the single Reply button,
y'hear..

  the Reply button... ONLY.!!!

[TMIC] Question

2010-09-20 Thread Regina Rummel
Does anyone take Marinol for pain?
And what's the difference between Marinol and Sativex?
And, if Marinol is approved in the U.S., how come I never see it on the list of
meds you list that you take from time to time.
Just curious.

Re: [TMIC] A very scary observation

2010-09-20 Thread Barbara Alma

I think that Laura and many others probably have the best point. During a
trauma, the brain goes into a stasis mode--and we don't always make the
smartest decisions in the process. Even without a partner in your life, I have
to think that there ought to be a neighbor, a friend, co-worker or somebody to
call instead of driving ones self if you can't feel the pedals or pressure that
you are applying.

Makes one wonder though, how many don't really make it to the hospital or cause
an accident on the way that may cause more damage to themselves as well as
others. That's where I was getting in my message actually.

When you are actually going through this, your mind is not thinking right. My
last MS attack left me a C6 quadriplegic...MS this time, not TM. Anyhow, I
booked transit to take me to the hospital. My reasoning was that I was already
in a chair, so what's the worse that could happen? (yeah right)...I spent ^
weeks in the hospital because of this and am still on full homecare.

Have you ever had an accident where, while it was actually happening, you are
completely calm? This is almost the same thing. During a trauma, the brain goes
into a stasis mode--and we don't always make the smartest decisions in the
process.

Does anyone, other than me, find it very scary to think of somebody who finds
that they no longer have feeling in their legs and feet but decides to drive
themselves to the emergency hospital?? I myself was paralyzed waist to toes on
both sides, so it wouldn't have even been possible for me anyway. However, I
have read that at least 2 times recently on this site of people driving
themselves. I really have a hard time imagining anyone not phoning for
emergency services.

My husband wanted to take me to the hospital right away when this happened to
me. I stubbornly thought that it would pass, and after about an hour when it
didn't, he called our son to come home. They then decided to call the fire
department for help to get me down the stairs so he could get me to the
hospital. We had about 10 stairs then to exit our home. I wasn't willing to
risk he or my son falling and then them having problems as well. After they
checked out my vitals and assured they were all fine, they assisted in getting
me down the stairs and into his truck and Pete drove me to the hospital. This
way we didn't have to pay for an ambulance since it wasn't necessary, yeah!

When I first subscribed to - TMIC-list@eskimo.com I have never
see the list-request until a week or so ago.Someone sent me an
email and on the address part before I even opened it up, it had
list-request. I just ignored that part and answered as I always do.
It had
nothing to do with many repeats of same messages I get.I received a message
that I could not send a message to someone because I have not
joined tmic-list-requ...@eskimo.com. Now I don't know if people using the
request are getting my messages or not.

I admit I am very computer illiterate, but this doesn't make sense all of a
sudden.
