This is most likely because your app or libraries use by it are spawning non-
daemon threads and aren't terminating those properly. In those cases Tomcat is
done and shuts down, but the JVM process cannot exit. This has been discussed
numerous times on the tomcat-user mailing list, and is not a Tomcat bug. If
you'd like further details, I suggest searching the tomcat-user mailing list
archives and/or subscribing to the list to post your problem. The logger
removal and other messages in your log are normal and expected, not a problem
nor relevant to your problem.
