I was running Sun 1.4.3 on Linux Redhat 7.3 with the -server line and we had mucho stability problems. Removed the -server and the problems disappeared. May depend on the particular app running (the developers thought it was related to the swing code. Howdy, I don't use -server on linux now, haven't tried it as I had problems with it on the Solaris platform. Perhaps someone else could shed more light...
