I have the initial environment memory set to 4096 (the maximum available
through the UI).

Re: tomact not staring

2002-06-05 Thread Adrian

I have a win98 machine running 4.0.4b1, with almost the same setting your
using and it starts just fine. I had the same problem I set my intial
enviroment to 8192. When you pull down the memory it highlights the 4096 and
you can type over it.

RE: tomact not staring

2002-06-05 Thread Larry Isaacs

See item 2 under the "(5) Troubleshooting:" section of
RUNNING.txt in the Tomcat installation directory. It
addresses this issue.

Cheers,
Larry

RE: tomact not staring

2002-06-06 Thread Shapira, Yoav

Howdy,
We're going to need a bit more than that to help you ;)

1) How do you know the tomcat script is picking up your environment
variable settings?

2) 4.0.4 is beta. I'd suggest starting out with a stable release, e.g.
4.0.3.

3) Is there any output at all to the tomcat logs, e.g. Catalina.out? If
so, what's the output?

4) Are you trying to run it as a service, or from the command-line?

Post a big more info (and maybe spell-check ;)), and I'm sure the list
will solve your problem in no time,

Re: tomact not staring

2002-06-06 Thread Ushakov, Sergey N

"bad command" suggests that most likely something is wrong with JAVA_HOME...

But to make sure I can suggest the following:
1) modify catalina.bat so that the first line becomes "echo on" instead of
"@echo off"
2) start Tomcat again and watch the batch file output
3) have a good look at the lines preceding "bad command" message

I'm sure you will see what the "bad command" is... :)

Regards
Sergey
