My Tomcat SNMP Agent

2003-02-26 Thread Nicolas Dinh
Hi everyone,

As one of my University projects, I have to write an SNMP Agent. I was
planning on writing one for Tomcat. I need to be able to write one that
supports up to 12-15 MIB (Management Information Base) variables.

Which variables could be feasibly monitored/controlled on Tomcat without
changing any of the source code (in other words, which types of information
can be extracted from the Tomcat log files or changed in the config files)?

Right now, i have some in mind:

-Total number of HTTP Requests from the Access Valve logs

-HTTP Port # from the Server.xml

-Operating System name

-Consumed/Available Memory

Do you have any other suggestions? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Regards,

Nicolas Dinh
