I think that's true for NT services in general, isn't it? I'm not sure
though, it's been a long time since I've set up services on NT ;)

Are you sure the only thing changed was the tomcat versions? We
experienced improved startup and shutdown times when moving from 3.2 to
4.x, on both NT and Solaris. But never running as a service. I wonder
if running as a service has anything to do with it. Does it take your
tomcat the same amount of time to start/stop when running as a service
or as a console?

If you've cleared your logs (did they have any clues in them?) and
restarted tomcat without errors, could it be that something else in the
system changed? Maybe the databases themselves?

Completely depends on what you want to do ;) In general, I'd say the
latest release-quality build is best. You benefit from new features,
bug fixes, etc without being too much of a beta-tester.

tomcat + other

2001-07-17 Thread David Bishop

Has anyone got tomcat working with any of the pike-based webservers (roxen,
caudium, roxen2)? For various reasons I've been trying them out lately, but
need servet/jsp support as well.

Thanks,
